https://archive.ph/2Z4lW Our very own Chancellor on the list for the first time. The fortunes of those on the list have gone up by £710 BILLION in 12 months which is 8%. Make you feel sick doesn't it that millions are struggling with the cost of living when so much wealth is around people who will never get close to spending it, when it can be properly taxed....Even if the government don't want to get more money off the very richest billionaires we have, why do they not volunteer to hand over more of their wealth? If you were THAT rich wouldn't you want to help your fellow Brits out? Obviously not.
Take the family at the top of the list. They have made £11 billion pounds in the last year to go up to a fortune of £28 billion pounds. Wouldn't you feel uneasy making so much money when people are struggling? They can afford to donate that entire 12 months of profit and they wouldn't notice it was gone.
You do realise that supporting such actions as that could be seen as embracing Socialism, wanting a fairer society and that you may now have to stop reading and posting links from Tory rags such as the Daily Mail
Millenials hold 4.8% of total wealth (with Zuckerberg alone accounting for 2% of that 4.8%). At the same average age generation x had 9% and boomers had 21%. It's getting worse and worse for each successive generation as money becomes increasingly concentrated at the top and we need to do something to reverse the trend.
Come the revolution Comrade. Seriously though, and I’m really not intending to teach granny to suck eggs here, but whilst ever us Turkeys keep voting for Christmas, it will be forever thus
You've also got the issue of the excessive contribution of emissions and consumption from the cohort of the richest people.
And yet Mr and Mrs Rishi are still behind a Barnsley lad! Trouble is, he's a bigger Tory brexiteer than them!
I’ve never come into contact with billionaires, but I’ve known investment bankers and the like - through work not by choice. Outside their own circle there are no ‘fellow Brits’ there is no one else, so they can’t feel a sense of fairness. Their sense of self-entitlement is absolute. I have heard them refer to ordinary people as ‘pondlife’ and ‘the great unwashed’. Contempt is the best they can do.
I struggle with understanding that - not saying you are wrong, and I have the very same page open. https://themakingofamillionaire.com/millennials-hold-4-8-of-all-wealth-312b69a7bdfe But if boomers had 21%, Gen X had 9, and Millenials 4.8 ........ in my mind that means millenials hold less 'wealth' than previous generations? I can't work out where it mentions concentration.
If a group holds a smaller proportion of the total wealth it means the remainder must be more heavily concentrated elsewhere
