My my, if the squad do indeed read this forum I bet they are thrilled to bits & inspired. There are two types of player, first type who say Fck it then & second type that says, Ok I'll show you lot. I truly hope it's the latter.
Maybe but don't forget you have to look at everyone u23. U18 etc and their is more retained or offered new deals of whatever kind on the retained list than people going and one of the goings is the young goalkeeper jinadu and i thought he was definitely one for the future
I think we will see a new manager in sooner rather than later and he's seen who we have and he'll have a look at them when their back in training and that is why some of them contract is pending so he can say if they are good enough or not. I believe quite a few of them won't be here at the beginning of the season because he will bring his own brand of players into the club.
Moon & Brittain are under contract. Palmer has probably been offered a large pay cut. He may come good with the right coach, but a lower wage also may give him some resale value. I don't think he'll qualify for compo otherwise, as he came from Man City? Not totally sure on this one TBH... He's played over 70 games in the Championship. That should interest some clubs in L1 / L2 surely, if we can't turn his form around. He was decent in the Championship under Struber / Val. Plenty of under performers last season... Woodrow for one.
And that, for me is precisely the reason he should be released. Skills and technique can be taught, but if u just can't be @rsed, then that's just a character trait that can't be.
In your opinion. I think he’s perfectly fine as part of a squad going for promotion from League One. Especially on existing terms. He was a player that featured semi-regularly in a team that finished 5th in the Championship, and one that featured less regularly in a team that won promotion from League One. It would cost more to replace him.
Where is there any blinkered admiration? Talk about misquoting something and turning in to something it wasn’t.
I would like to know as decided on this retained list . Is it down to Devaney ? If so, is it jobs for the boys? is it Kalheed ? If it is, he as shown again he’s nowhere near right for the job of CEO. Or as come down to Jame’ spreadsheet b0llocks? I was 50/50 renewing before today but after reading that list, I’m back to no chance ! New board, same crap!
It wouldn't cost more to replace him. You really only want 3 main strikers. One of them should be a top loan IMO. You can count ALI too. then you have a choice of someone stopping from Woodrow Oulare maybe. Marsh (loan) Cole Schmidt all out. imo
Whatever causes it, it must be contagious. I have it too. I'm looking forward to seeing Victor in action next season.
With all the strikers we currently have on the books he does not have to be replaced , pruning the wage bill after relegation is common sense & he was clearly out of his depth in the championship & has failed before in both division one & two , I can see no rational or reasonable explanation for him being offered a new contract .
I think mowatt did all the work last year and made palmer and styles to some extent, look better than they actually are. Some of the performances from palmer last season were amateur at best
I think this is the clearest signal yet that we expect Woodrow and Morris to leave this summer, which is more insightful than any debate about whether Victor can make a dozen sub appearances and cause a nuisance in league 1. I'd assumed we would look to get rid of Leya Iseka, Schmidt and Cole, but perhaps the thinking is they might come good at a lower level. I've seen no evidence that they will, but you never know. You'd assume Aitchison, Marsh, Bremang and maybe even Jalo would be considered the 3rd/4th strikers in a league 1 squad, so the offer of a contract to Adeboyejo suggests they consider him a viable option as a first team regular. Otherwise, what's the point? Summary: we've got far too many players, and at the first opportunity to take just one off the books, we haven't. Not the most inspiring decision, regardless of the merits of Big Vic. Will be fascinating to see what we line up with come August.
