No disagreement from me. Do we pay him off for his lack of effort? That would be great. We are talking about players out of contract.
Gotta be the only business that does that......ok maybe high flying CEOs........If I tossed it off the the last year no one would pay me off, god knows I've tried, I'd be sacked simple as.
Just offload him asap . He’s not what we want in lea It’s what we do as a club everything is half arsed and we accept failure
Under other circumstances I’d be saying how good it was that we were trying to keep our squad together. Instead I’m thinking ‘fk me’. I guess in theory they’ll look better in League 1
To be fair the retain list is par for the course . I would expect at least 5 of our main players leave to balance the books . However , retaining Vic and palmer is not a good sign of our intentions .
I guess we all have our individual views on players but whilst we can chew them around they don't really matter as we aren't making the decisions and whoever is, isn't listening to fans views. However, the two things that stand out for me having read this thread are:- 1) I don't see the need for supporters to be berating other supporters for wanting maybe a bit more from today's announcement. It seems that some are content to be conditioned to accept the bare minimum, fair enough, but a number of other clubs go a bit further. I've read quite a few retained list statements over the last week or two and most, if not all, seem to be clear about their loans in and out returning for example - I can't see any harm for us mentioning, say, that Vita has gone back to Bayern Munich if that's the case and that we are considering or have declined the option to buy that we were led to believe we had. Similarly I'm still confused about Oulare - has he returned or is he at RWDM until next Summer? Again easy to clarify that. Some clubs have put the status of their contract offers in cases where eg these have been declined and some others (by no means all) have listed players that are under contract who's names they have circulated as being available for transfer. 2) The fact that we aren't releasing all of the releasable players suggests that either the financial position isn't as dire as logic and known numbers indicate or that we are going to be selling all of our better players and plan to be reliant on the cheaper/(even)younger players for the new season. As I simply don't see the former being the case and don't see any obvious mechanism for the new majority ownership to put money in even if they wanted to, I fear that the latter is the case. We simply don't feel as if we are in a position to be able to afford to have a few hundred grand going on Adeboyajo/Palmer standard players at the moment unless they are going to be expected to be regulars. I'll refrain from giving my view as to where that might end up leading us but all-in-all this doesn't feel like a great start for 'Spectemur Agendo'.
The retained list has no bearing on these players though. It’s about which players are under contract, which are out of contract and have been offered new ones, and those out of contract and been released. There is never an update within the retained list announcement about players that are under contract.
Must have totally missed this. Can you point me in the direction of the berating just for wanting more info? Valid points on the loans. I guess with only four players up for release from the first team squad we’ve released 50% of them, offered a new contract to the 25% we’re due compensation on, and a new contract outright to the other 25%. The number of players that fall in to those buckets is 2, 1 and 1.
I wonder whether we’ll keep those other strikers on the books? I also wonder how those other strikers compare in terms of wages and attitude? Again, as limited as he is, he’s got a League One automatic promotion and the Championship Playoffs on his CV.
Late developer is Victor...watch him come into his own next season or the season after or the season after or the season after....joking apart... In my opinion the lad needs to be more aggressive when he crosses that white line...hes too nice at times for his own good he's big enough to knock 7 bells out of most defenders but lacks that aggression that top strikers have Yes his first touch is like a sledge hammer to a nut but the lad gives 100% when he plays A week or two with Billy big balls Whitehurst would do him the world of good now he did know aggression lol
Been at the club since the 17/18 season of which one season he was out on loan (Bristol Rovers?). His best goal return in a season is 4.
I’m confused why you’re giving me stats I’m aware of. I’ve already said things like ‘not a player you’d want starting 40 games’ and ‘limited footballer’. For some reason you’re intent on suggesting I’ve bigged him up and that im acting as his agent. When in reality I’ve said he’s already in League One as your fourth choice striker - mainly because he’s on peanuts and it would cost us more to replace him.
He is a striker with a goal scored record of 9 goals in 98 appearances which is shocking, he played in division 2 with Cambridge & Bristol rovers & failed , neither team came back for him , he played in Vals team but only a bit part ,but considering we could & did use 16 players during a match then so did others as well , he might have a good attitude which is commendable but if you think he is going to bring goals to the team which is what you pay strikers for then I think you will be mistaken & if you expect us to try & get back to the championship with Vic leading the line then it is not going to happen. The truth of it is that Vic is at best is an impact player off the bench , when he starts a match he struggles & you expect an impact player to impact the game but unfortunately his goal scoring record suggests he rarely does , you obviously rate him & I do not , we have different opinions & that is fine by me but no arguments will persuade me that Vic will fire us towards promotion .
He’s a backup player at best, but he’s a useful backup player to have for his sheer size & strength alone. I can guarantee though if we let him go & we get injuries in that position next season we’ll definitely regret not keeping him around, especially with how low his wages would be.
I’d rather keep Iseka than Vic. The lad can finish, that’s clear from the few chances he had last season. A new season with a new coach and playing alongside Morris with some proper service, I think he’d score goals in L1. That said, I think he’ll probably get sold back to a Belgian club.
