I've no issue with them in general, but their arrogance last time we were in the same league as them was astounding. They were linked with Cameron McGeehan when we were both in the same league, and their fans on twitter were talking as though he'd already signed. To the point where they were naming him in their lineup an hour before kick off.
You may think of them as third division standard, but they've only ever played 5 seasons in the third tier (but the last 4). The rest has been in the Top flight apart from approximately 20 odd other seasons. That puts them in the top 20 clubs of all time in English football.
Given he gets a 3 match ban just for his hair, they probably dodged a bullet there. The Dutch hair regulations are more liberal.
Hope you bounce back and are in the championship next season where hopefully we will be as well. A season of consolidation hopefully for us and we can hopefully build from there. Quite an emotional day yesterday, and unlike yourselves have never experienced a win at Wembley and only heartache on 7 successive occasions. Good luck for next season.
Glad you enjoyed it at Wembley, tbh it was only a matter of time for you to get to the Championship. I admit I wanted Wyvombe, if Derby hadn't cheated and the EFL had punished them in the right season they'd have had another chance . I've a feeling that you'll not get your season of consolidation, you're like us recently either battling relegation or in the top 6!
Thanks RH. I suppose we will see what out ambition is, if we dont recruit well emough and stand still we will be right back again.
Drove back up the M1 from holiday yesterday and you couldn't move at any of the Motorway Services for them! If I never see another Sunderland shirt for as long as I live, it will be one too many! They must have more 14 or 15 year old girls in their fanbase that Little Mix!!!
I was quite happy for Sunderland to win at Wembley. That injury time equaliser against the Fowls was a joy to behold. I know it’s sad but that was my highlight of a sorry season.
