Bit of an odd one. I don't see him leaving for another league 1 club. Particularly because he's still under contract. https://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town...r-woodrow-on-towns-list-of-potential-recruits
Be able to pay better wages than us and we will want him off the wage bill but i thought he would have got another championship team rotherham luton wigan someone like that.
I actually could see this happening. Fairly rich owners who spent last season, and haven't they released a lot of players now? Frees up some wages
In the last year of his contract, I think? Wouldn’t be surprised to see him go. Not sure if his performances over the last twelve month are enough to bring on much Championship interest.
I’d be shocked and annoyed at this one. If he moves to a championship side then fair enough but apart from the wage, I’m not sure going to Ipswich is a great career move.
When do footballers actually move to better their career really though? When it doesn't involve large sums of money? And to be fair, it may better his career. Last year here, he performs poorly again all season and his stock drops dramatically. Goes Ipswich now, signs a 4 year deal, he's set for 4 years
I mean regarding the last part, he could sign a new deal with us a for a few more years if he wanted that kind of security! I just can’t see him moving to a fellow league 1 side. I don’t really know the Ipswich finances apart from that they brought in quite a lot of players last season, would they really be paying a wage to him that would better ours and potentially championship clubs enough to make him want to move?
He could. But why would he if ipswich are offering more money? Ipswich spent a bucket load last year, got rid of plenty this year. No reason to assume they wont have more to spend than us on wages at the minute, bud
personally think this is the most likely scenario. another L1 club with decent prospects of promotion, on more money. kinda like moat leaving us for West Brom last season. I personally can't see any championship coming in for him, other than maybe one of the newly promoted clubs.
True, but he looked well off the pace this season. He's still got talent but needs a team that plays to his strengths.
Yeah they spent loads last year and probably spent a bit getting rid too. That shouldn’t be sustainable, particularly if you’re not successful but I guess football teams don’t often follow logic. I’d still be disappointed if we lost our club captain to a league 1 rival.
Me too, mate. As a club it would be really poor from us. But I just think from Woodrow's point of view, it kinda makes sense
Sometimes strikers have there day look at will grigg. Not saying cauley will end up like that but he needs to have a good season this time round and get some form back because past year and half hasnt been good for him.
Totally agree that Cauley has looked stale for a while now but I do think his talent is still there and it wouldn't surprise me to see him at a mid to top end championship club with better players around him and suddenly doing well again.
This is the funniest rumour so far. No chance of happening. Our owners are trying to get fans back onside so sell our club captain to a promotion rival and we get peanuts from it because of the Fulham sell on clause.
