If anything has changed at the club then today we need to know. Transfer window opens soon, contracts due expire, not long left for the early bird. We need a Chairman and Directors to take us forward, we need a coach to lift and motivate the players and fans. Today should be a big day.
For a minute there I thought we were going to have a band of brothers reading a letter before the jump moment. I'm not building myself up for the massive turn the club around, pumping Hugh amounts of cash in to the club, doing whatever it takes to to get out of league 1 at the first hurdle. I'm not even expecting any announcements with regards to the new coach. Pessimistically expect the least and anything else is a bonus. We've been there before and become downhearted. It's time for action not words.
I was too. Makes the whole setting out a vision for the future a bit hollow. He's going to be asked about the Head Coach. "Mmm". Stutter, stutter. "Erm next question please? You better ask Khaled." Wouldn't be a good start.
I think that we will get something positive, but that it will only be along the lines of, 'we have applications from a number of interested coaches, some of them with existing EFL and League One experience. We expect to bring the process to conclusion soon and will make the decision known as soon as we have it,' or something like that. I am okay with this taking time, especially as good candidates may be interested in other jobs as well. Better that we wait and get the best coach we can. You know that, for me, it would be Michael Duff and I really do hope that he is still up for it. We don't want another rushed appointment and have to get down to our number seven on the list. Patience and persistent, please, and, with the Cryne influence at Oakwell now, I would think that we will get that. I am sure that they will doing the best they can for the club, the fans and the town. COYR
I was under the impression there was a press conference today with the new board but the Chronicle today makes no mention of it. Just refers to a fans forum tonight in the Legends Suite. So is there a press conference today or not?
Who, at the time had a record way better than Michael Duff and went on to put together a team that was on the edge of the play offs in the Championship before the heart of it was torn out. After that it wasn't great but some people will never forgive him for saying what he thought. I'd far rather Keith Hill than either of those two pillocks we employed last season.
Beat me to it. Hill's credentials at the time were excellent. I was certainly happy with the appointment. But bear in mind I also welcomed the appointment of Spackman.
He may just be on about the reality of religation and the shortfall in money. If as Doug Okane states that no one has made any serious bids for any of our players. Then any good news maybe few and far between this evening. I'd guess we're in for a dose of reality and not ground breaking changes.
Steve Parkin had similar credentials to Keith Hill if not identical. As in Rochdale still hadn't been promoted to League 1 when Hill departed for us. It was only in his return to Spotland that they achieved promotion from the fourth tier. You could argue they'd both done f cuk all.
It’s not June yet , clubs waiting to see who they can get on the cheap and let’s face it 30 points suggests any club in the Championship looking to buy a BFC player are taking a gamble
