Especially when getting rid of the previous Head Coach by mutual consent three games before the end of the season.
They do if the coach they want seasons not over. Still trying to get his current club back in the league maybe. Now if it's Duff JFH or even Colin, I don't understand why that would take this long to announce
I seem to remember we wanted Paul Hurst before, when he did well at Shrewsbury. Blanked us and went to Ipswich instead. Everything when downhill for him after that. Seems Ipswich can be a bit of a graveyard for coaches... Maybe the expectation
Not sure where you are coming from mate re Hill. Prior to being allowed to speak to us. In his first full season as Dale boss, he took Rochdale to the 2008 League Two play-off final, where they lost 3–2 against Stockport County, having defeated Darlington 5–4 on penalties in the semi-final.[9] The 2008–09 season saw Hill take Rochdale to the 2009 League Two play-off semi final for the second year in a row, but they were beaten 2–1 by Gillingham, the eventual winners.[10] The next season saw improvement again, gaining automatic promotion, after a 1–0 win against Northampton Town on 17 April 2010.[11] However, a dip in form near the end of the season saw Rochdale miss out on the League Two title, finishing third behind Notts County and AFC Bournemouth. Rochdale finished ninth in League One the following season. The 68 points gained meant the club had achieved their highest league finish since the 1969–70 season.
Neither. Like them just after they've come out of oven fresh. Can eat them cold back to back too. Back in 2001/2 I used to call at Morrisons before I caught 245 bus to Barnsley from Pontefract and buy two Cornish pasties and a pack of jam donuts to eat on the bus. Quick look in HMV, by a CD and down to Oakwell. EMA well spent.
I should have checked first really. I wasn't hundred per cent when I posted. I just remembered Rochdale being in League 2 was a massive thing because they hadn't ever been in the third division. Didn't realise it was before Hill came here.
I couldn't be arsed to write owt up. Just copied and pasted from wiki. But I did genuinely take note of his record at the time. And for a reason unknown to myself even. I always looked for their results when they were doing well. And wishing promotion for their long suffering fans.
Looking back I never really took to Keith Hill. I think he came in at the wrong time. Under the wrong owner. Had we had him sooner or just a bit later he'd have done well. I reckon if they'd had the idea to bring in young talent from the lower leagues when Hill came in. Instead of any old 5 hite from the lower leagues it might have worked out.
