Haha thanks for that. Nobody should be expected to pay £40 for a replica kit until they have all been released. They owt to be getting them out in the next fortnight to make most of Father's Day sales and the warmer weather....If it's anything like normal they will miss the market.

This guy doesn’t want to support Barnsley if it means we aren’t very good. I’ve read in the past you have said you’d be happy for us to be in League Two if it meant we were self sustainable and fan owned. This is a sentiment I completely agree with, however, plenty like the poster you are quoting is only interested in Barnsley if they are doing exactly what he wants, which basically is unsustainable.

Indeed David Hirst barely had time to get his boot muddy before we was whipped off to piggy land, imagine the meltdown there’s be today?

What I don’t get is that he’s the head or principle of his families investment vehicle. Those tend to be hugely unsentimental with a requirement to make money above whatever your returns would be from a unmanaged equity investment product I’d assume. So, I’d be interested to know how big the overall portfolio is to get an idea what the BFC investment looks like in terms of size, and at what point they’d chalk it off and move on.

Certainly isn't. The hope was that when PMG et al came in in December 2017 with their supposed wealth and the club apparently debt-free, the necessity to sell every time might have been reduced. The disappointment is that is not what has happened, so we never make any real progress as a squad or as a club.

Not exactly right though Jamie, is it? I would say that the team has not been very good for around 66% of the 54 years I have watched them, on and off. I do not/never have wanted the club to spend unsustainable amounts. But any business needs at least some investment to succeed. I define "succeed" as maintaining stability in the Championship, which is after all what Conway promised when his gang came in.

As mentioned above, its not his family that invested in Barnsley it’s himself. He’s football mad and wanted to get into football was what he said and although it was an investment he said he’d become a fan and was here for the long term now. Certainly speaking to him over the last few years It does seem that way with regards his deep interest in Barnsley and football and I think I said before he’s comes across like a passionate Barnsley fan.

The situation is much more positive, but I reckon they've got a long, hard road ahead if their long term goals are to be achieved. For me it comes down to value for money, especially in the current cost of living crisis and I don't think League One provides value at the price they're charging. So it'll be Worsbrough Bridge for me next season, with a couple of decent away trips to Harrogate and Beverley...

but any money spent still goes to those ruining the club. I can’t get past that really but it’s different for everyone. I was in the ‘not a penny more’ brigade so not seen too much to change my mind.

Having said that one guy I go with looks to have changed his mind so if I does I will probably end up keeping him company. Other 4 we go with are still definite no’s.

I have got zero interest in whether we make money or lose money (within reason).

I expect occasional player sales to keep us afloat and would like us to be in a cost neutral spend position as much as possible. But that’s the job of the owners and their appointees to manage not me.

As long as we target sporting achievement above making money then I’m onboard. Unfortunately this has not happened over the last few seasons. Decisions have been made to maximise profits rather than improve the ground or team.

It backfired spectacularly last season but it’s been coming for a while.

As for the Crynes I don’t think they want to move away from the model Patrick set up towards the end. Having us being as self sustainable as possible but not looking to monetise every signing.

Will you be writing a summary Gally? Fair play if not, it was streamed live and the video is still available. But if I can just read the headlines...

So it looks as though if legally and morrally another of our directors thinks it's right that the 750 000 comes from the club then there'll be another 2.5 million to be taken out at some point?

Loved Neerav,s answer to the Luton questions about investmen. Saying they've had no more investment than us, but just spent there's more wisely..
That in a nutshell as been our downfall.. poor recruitment and the under 24 rule.
Luton are the model to fallow like it or not. Sound recruitment.. even tho they'll have got some wrong.. And a never say die tenacious coach

I agree but bear in mind, Luton's model will fail at some point. Like us, they're not big enough to sustain their current momentum indefinitely.

1 million going into the pot on top of 2 million
For being in L1. Plus another million on parachute payment.. that's a 4 million budget for next season. Which in L1 must be a top 6 budget. Infact with the bookies making us third favs to go back up, that surely what they're going on.
That's why getting the next coach who knows and as worked well at this level is vital for next season.
But what gives me confidence in next season, from his answers, is Neerav and so the board know this.

On talksport last season, when they were doing well, they said that Luton have "by far the lowest budget" in the championship. So make of that what you will..
I don't think there model has to fail.. thats where the test and the skill comes in.Can they sustain the current level or not drop too far below it.
They are already saying there determined not to do "a Barnsley"next season and drop like a stone. They will be a club to keep half n eye on next season. Even tho we're not in the same league.

A £4 million budget to pay an £8 million wage bill looks like a tricky situation to me.
