We might put out something together for the Trust website. Maybe after the press conference on Tuesday
He also said he would be willing to engage with anyone whilst he was over here. And when not, others at the club would. I'm all for people saving money. But either renew or don't. Extending the early bird again is not necessary. It's peoples prerogative to do what they like. The club have listened to the fans and extended twice already, rightly so given the recent revelations. The money issue is relevant to those that can't afford one even on the interest free period or 10 months with interest. The way to try help them is to reduce match day prices. So they can look at their individual finances as to whether they can afford the odd game. For those still in limbo. They've had enough time and the club have explained the plans going forward. Their are no guarantees of success regardless of who becomes head coach. So no to another extension.
Would have liked to hear from JAQ also before the early bird runs out. Not been impressed with Khaled and would have liked to seen him move on yet I`ve lived with crap CEO` s before.
You've heard him speak once, what do you mean you aren't impressed with him. He was fine last night. Spoke and answered everyone even if some of the things weren't put to him in the best way or people repeating the same question. Its not what he does. Unlike Someone like Paul Conway whos comfortable speaking to people, he isn't.
Where in that have I mentioned Nareev and guess work used on how many times I heard him speak. tha dunt improve any.
Just to provide a bit of context, the comments around this were in response to the questions I was asking him. The 'could be paid by either company' line is being consistently used by all parties, but the reason for asking for more clarification on this is that the accounts clearly state the debt as being one of the investment company, and the knock on effect for the remaining £2.75m is therefore a critical thing for us as a fanbase to be able to understand. Contractually, as far as I can see it, what the accounts state and what the board members are advising are still different things. He admitted himself yesterday that he's not the best person to provide clarity on this, but he did offer to speak to me separately and it's via those channels that I'll try to progress this further with the club. However, it's genuinely the first time I don't feel that I've been stonewalled when trying to get information regarding this, which is progress.
Well, if they don't extend I doubt the matchday prices will appeal to many. I have a huge issue with on the day pricing, it virtually prices out the casual fan.
Khaleds the CEO he didn't speak last night that was the new Chairman. i thought you might have realised that
I missed that he put Khaled. I didn't look through the post fully. Bit strange to be critical oh him in a post about the new chairman. Also not sure what he wants the Jullie Ann Quay to say that will change things. you're either with the team or not now.
Intersting when talking about recruitment and he said "we will still be using the data approach i wont say every recent signing has been data driven, but the ones that havent been data driven havent worked out" *cough* oulare *cough*
Was he saying that every signing that hadn't worked out were not data driven? Or that we had a lot of failed signings that were data driven but the one or two extras that weren't were also failures? Two very different things
Not really. The new chairman decides who the CEO is. He has chosen to keep him in his position and as such it is a reflection on him
If the £750k instalment already paid and the remaining £2.75m effectively comes from club funds rather than from the investment company (the owners), then even if they sold it at the same price they paid for it, wouldn't they pocket £3.5m? Maybe not a huge amount in itself given they're all probably millionaires already but decent as a return on their original investment. I'm of course delighted that Conway and Lee have gone, I'm encouraged by the suggested changes to the recruitment strategy and delighted that it appears likely that the next manager will be UK based. I remain concerned though about where the funds are coming from to buy the club. For me, Neerav's comments about becoming a supporter are incompatible with using club money to buy it. Would a supporter withdraw money from the club, knowing that it would impact the ability to compete? @Sheriff - thanks for asking the question about it and for saying you'll follow it up. I'm very interested in what you're able to find out. Edit: Perhaps it might be covered in the Press Conference on Tuesday......
Under the circumstances that’s a pretty weird thing to say. There’s a massive bridge to build back with fans. Even the Club realise this. Difficult to see how you think the BIG pile of issues has suddenly gone away. Conway and Lee have been removed. That’s all. Granted it’s a big step forward, but let’s not pretend all the problems have suddenly gone away. They haven’t.
Well, legally and morally it was money owed to Patrick from the loans Barnsley Football Club owed him at the time of the sale. There are still unanswered questions about the treatment of this in the accounts and Conway never thinking to mention this every time he talked about never taking a penny out of the club but if the money was just taken at the time of the sale there would have been less controversy and probably discussion. Here's what he said:
When the company (Barnsley FC Ltd) was sold by Patrick Cryne, he elected to sell it debt free. He wrote off the loan he was owed by the company, and he made no secret of the fact that he had done so. If he had wanted to be repaid £4m, he simply writes off the balance above £4m and allows the remainder of his loan to stand in the books of Barnsley FC Ltd. He elects not to do that. He writes the lot off. That suggests to me that Patrick Cryne did not want any subsequent repayment to come out of the books of Barnsley FC. It suggests that he saw the figure as an additional purchase price dependent upon the company's performance in the period following that sale. Any additional purchase price is payable by the purchaser. The link to the loan to Barnsley Football Club Ltd is a false logic, because that loan no longer existed after it was written off. From his enquiries, the Company's auditor clearly believes that this is the case, and the company auditor has access and authority to ask the right questions of the right people, and assess the answers that he receives.
Marc people are taking the piss now fella. The club can't do anything right. The club can never do enough. We have problems, every team does. Football moves on. Like I've said before. You can't have the good without the bad. Neerav sat at the front. Jean Cryne sat near the back and listened to what people said to Neerav. Personally experience we have a CEO that will listen to fans opinions. Even if you aren't calm and concise. The first time since Ben Mansford in that. We have a Chairman that answered peoples views. We have a supporter's trust representing fans. We have people that care all around this club. I criticise people at the club but a lot of people do care about the club.
