    The Daily Mirror are reporting that the English Prime minister is going to announce on Friday, the right to use Imperial Weights and Measures. This is to celebrate and honour the monarchs jubilee. Just to remind everyone, the year is 2022.

    Nothing surprises me about the Tory party ,
    The same Tory Party that if it was given its way would happily kick Patel, Sunak and Kwarteng out of the country and they know this but the ability to make as much money as they can then hide it from the tax man trumps most things for greedy cnuts .

    We were, you just had to display metric alongside. It will make comparing prices in supermarkets impossible as they will make their different pack sizes one metric and one imperial so you can’t compare price per g/lb easily without first converting.

    The only people interested in using Imperial weights and measures are the sad old farts who never stopped using them in the first place.

    I know this for a fact because I'm one of those sad old farts. I still calculate my petrol consumption in miles per gallon and convert forecourt prices in my head to £ per gallon. I still measure in feet and inches, watch my weight in stones and pounds, and buy my midget gems by the quarter. I just need the old pre-decimalisation currency to make a comeback and I'll be as happy as Larry.

    You were allowed but had to sell by metric weight. It’s why a lot of things were 1lb or 454g

    not many are going to go back to selling exclusively in imperial as no use under 50 will have a clue. This is just a publicity stunt. I’d get more worried if they decide to start teaching imperial measures in schools mind. And I wouldn’t put it past them
