Just took my 6 year old for 2 games of bowling in town ( new bowling alley) cost £52 for me wife and son

Booked to go cannon hall farm tomorrow £38

Appreciate it’s my own choice to book these events but to me seems very pricey compared to a few years ago

We had a shock when we took niece and nephew to York Maze (love that place - definitely worth the money). It was fine as a one off but I wouldn’t want to be doing that regularly, and that’s with them being provided with money for food and gift shop.

In terms of Bowling, maybe they don’t do it anymore and the signs are ancient but there used to be banners up at Oakwell advertising bowl and swim at Metrodome for a family for under £50. Bowling and two pizzas is £25 on certain days between half 3 and 6pm.

    Arrrrrr much.
Cannon hall farm has allus been a bit pricey for my liking.
You may like Boston park farm. Ideal for 6yr old. Cost me. Missus and 2 grandkids £16. + £2 animal feed (optional)
Bowling £26 per game for the 3 of you I assume. I can't say whether that's dear or not. And tbh when i last played 1 game was enough.

Sundown is a bit pricey but I'd say worth it.

National Trust membership is definitely worth the money. We're in Wales this week and have been at Penryhn Castle again today. For six of us it would have been a third of the annual cost of membership if we'd just turned up. Wentworth Castle and Nostell Priory are easy to get to local ones, but we use it often, especially if we're away for a weekend.

I'd echo that. National Trust membership is unbelievable value. I got my mum membership as a gift last year when she moved house as she's close to Nostell and it's paid for itself with about 5 months left on it.

We've been members for a long while now and though we've not been anywhere since March, I suspect in time, we'll still make good value from it. You only need to visit say 4-5 places a year and you've covered the annual fee.

Wentworth Garden Centre Farm is decent value. £3.25 for adults £2.95 for kids. Cannon Hall has the soft play as well though.

Alternatively get out onto the moors. Beautiful scenery, fresh air, wildlife. We had no end of fun with our kids when they were young, tramping about, paddling, building/demolishing dams, sometimes cycling on the Trans Pennine Trail.
It won't cost you a penny!

You should do Bodnant Gardens or Plas Newydd both are beautiful places too if still in North Wales.

Bring them up to Shaw Lane for a couple of hours. They can do our orienteering course, and borrow table tennis bats for our outdoor tables. It will cost you £0:00

Thanks, I’ll have a look and see how far away they are. We’re staying in Pwhelli.
I love a holiday in North Wales.

Take 'em for a couple of hours fishing! Under 12s don't need a licence, just the cost of a permit from the fishery. Smithies dam is dirt cheap and if they dont catch they can watch the herons and parakeets as they eat their picnic.
A local tackle shop can fix you up with an inexpensive starter kit and bait, plus advice, and off you go, a proper hobby.
