Agreed about both points but I think Livingstone and Buttler for the next 3 or 4 games may outweigh the frailties. Salt also is an excellent aquisition. Betting companies have it as being very open with Notts, Somerset and Lancs at 6/1 or thereabouts closely followed by Yorks and Surrey. Don’t know much about Finn Allen who joins us after Shadap goes
Finn Allen was very good for Lancashire, opening with Jennings. I get the impression that he'll have a consistently high strike rate, but not necessarily consistently high scores. When it's his day it'll be a good watch, but when it's not, he won't scratch around for a ten ball single figure score.
https://www.espncricinfo.com/player/finn-allen-959759/matches His form over his last ten matches is very hit and miss with three half centuries and a 49 scored. However from his other six innings sixteen is his highest score and he's been out in single digits three times.
Just booked tickets for Friday against Durham. I was going to use train for a change. Coming back is going to be a pain in the arse. Last one from Headingley (Burley park) 23:15 Too late to get a link home. The one before leaves before game is likely to finish 21:15. Poor show given there's a game. Hope the busses are available or it's easy to get a taxi after the game.
Fraine and Willey should be in for Brook and Root. Khan needs to go for a lot less than the fifty one runs he did yesterday.
we're the same, if train back to barnsley, 45 min walk to leeds from ground, train at 10-32, we left 15 mins before end on sunday otherwise it'd be a 90 min wait or walk, too tight to pay for taxis ;-)
Look at this Instagram post Willey did. Four of the past five months spent away from home pretty much. The life of a Cricket player with how stacked the calendar is. RCB barely gave him a chance in the IPL which will have made being away from home even harder when you aren't playing.
There should be a few folk in and out of the ground in similar circumstances so how about getting together with 2 or 3 people to share a taxi ? Obviously I don’t know how big your group is ! It may end up being cheaper than a bus
He’ll still have been paid well and also remained contracted to Yorkshire. Not having a go at Willey but he chose to go to India as did Bairstow. Broad and Anderson obviously wanted to go to the West Indies so they had a few months off but not by choice. However, I absolutely agree that a top cricketers life is totally different nowadays especially with the covid rules etc
More strengthening. Forward thinking from management as lads will be missing. Hopefully there will be some match against Derbyshire tonight as it's brighter now.
8.35pm start - 8 overs a side - if no more rain. I fear the worst given the lack of power bats in the home team.
lyth needs an over to start, or get out dunno who's batting 1st but need to start with perhaps brook & malan, not even seen the line up
