    Poet, footballer, pilot - quite a career. And remains the only football player with two broken legs a professional football club has ever signed. For startlingly obvious reasons. And it's not like he had any more legs. He just has the two. Two functioning legs are the minimum requirement to be a footballer, but despite both his being broken, we still signed him. Outstanding.

    Reminds me of the Derek & Clive sketch about a one legged bloke. ‘Your left leg is a lovely leg. I got nothing against your left leg’ said Pete Cook to Dudley Moore, ‘problem is neither have you’.
