I also appreciate all their efforts to explain the complexities of our incomings and outgoings, but it still exceeds my expertise in Excel and Quicken.
You've turned this thread into one of incompetence. And most of the things you have commented on are not rocket science. And not what I believe the op was looking for.
Yes. If we can sell several millions of bags of chips. At £3 a go. probably a mark up of 500%. We can compete in the transfer market for better players .
No. What's happened is that red rain has, as per usual, belittled everyone else's opinion as one that has no value simply because they do not have an intricate knowledge of the club's finances. I merely replied stating that that is utter ******** and that opinions can be based on a hell of a lot more than that
I didn't get that impression. I don't know the guy from Adam. Just stating that someone in financial job roles in their work can generally interpret finances better. rather than an ill educated opinion. Of which there are many. 2+2 =5 and all that. I pride myself on my maths and basic housekeeping. But that's as far as it goes. I can give a lot of knowledge on pensions. having looked at and gathered information as I've gone along. But I'm no expert. And would recommend anyone to seek a financial advisor.
He really didn’t do that on this occasion. It was a fair observation and opinion that we might think certain decisions made are wrong, but without knowing the full details we can’t be sure. I disagree with him, and often do, but he wasn’t being an arse about it. I think your aggressive response was uncalled for and should be retracted.
New scheme. Chip in for the Reds. Every game you pay three quid and get a bag of chips. Then fit reds cart you off below the West Stand and you get five minutes full pelt on an exercise bike hooked up to the floodlights to save on t'leccy bill. We'll be quids in.
These days, I tend to limit my contributions on here. I try to focus on stuff that I know about. I try to explain and educate. That in itself limits my contributions. In this thread, the opening poster asked for an explanation in an area that I know. I responded, and was happy to leave things there. Supertyke responded, and I continued to try to explain and educate. It turned out that Superyke was not interested in that. He wanted to tell me that he knew better. I could see that there was no point in carrying on the conversation, so I left it.
Oh. My bad. Is this how you talk to most people when you’re being really passive? ‘You are such a condescending p**** at times red rain’ Simply uncalled for in the context of the conversation.
‘Frankly, if you don't understand that maximising revenue is important then your knowledge of accounting and business is much lower than I gave you credit for.‘ Who was being condescending
I was being accurate and giving an honest opinion. If he doesn't understand that then I genuinely believe his knowledge of business is much lower than I gave him credit for. Previously he has been held in high regard regarding his knowledge of finances etc but if he doesn't understand that maximising revenue is important then he's obviously a lot less knowledgeable than given credit for.
Do you want a shovel? Just accept it as a poor exchange and move on. Regardless of when the reply came, using those words on a forum talking about finances is aggressive. There’s no denying that at all.
