Duff was raised in North Yorkshire after moving from Belfast at a young age and still has family connections also.
Alex Crook @alex_crook · 2h Michael Duff and Dean Holden two of the names being considered by Blackpool to fill their vacant managerial post. Are looking for an up-and-coming manager with a record of developing young players in the Critchley-ilk #UTMP
We will miss out, what's poor in all this is that there are 2 other clubs in Cheltenham and Burton who don't know if they will need a new manager. This should have been resolved weeks ago in my view so that all clubs can move on with pre-season planning Which makes me think that it could be Warnock
personally think duff won't see Barnsley as a big enough step up, and just don't think the the stars will align on Warnock. which makes me think hasselbaink
Maybe so. But has anyone seen anything official regarding JFH, I've not seen anything anywhere to say an official approach has been made not even from the Burton end unless I've missed it
Son in law is a lifelong Burnley fan and says Duff’s a legend over there. Think he may become one for Barnsley.
Unless he goes to Blackpool. No idea how good any of the people linked would be, but this process seems to be a bit too protracted imo. Last word from Khaled suggested the shortlist was getting longer rather than shorter.
Don’t mind this if we’re adding quality people who are becoming available, not extending the list to include 6th, 7th to 20th choices… although if we can’t attract any in our top 5, we might have to. Would like to see the process expedited though. And would like someone in post by the weekend.
all for taking time to get the right bloke, but after this amount of time they just need to be making a decision now for me.
I agree, but if for example, Pep Guardiola showed an interest tomorrow, I’d be a bit upset if the board didn’t alter their plans to hold off a bit longer and give him an interview.
