https://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/...-and-derby-county-men-enter-the-frame-3722002 Be even worse if we lose our target to Ben Mansford. Mansford says they will take their time to make an appointment so they probably aren't interested in him.
Whoever we get is whoever we get. We've had plenty of car crash recruitments before, and I mean the process more than the outcome. But we're hardly getting ourselves off to a flyer under the new management banner.
I'd like Keith Hill. I think he'd fit in now there's no expectancy and we don't need reminding how 5 hit we are.
If Blackpool aren't interviewing Duff until Friday, we won't be any clearer until at least then. If Blackpool's interviewing is going on longer, we will have to wait longer as well - not good for either club. I am presuming, of course, that Duff is our first choice and, if so, we need to have already made that 100% clear to him. We've had both managers and players come to us before on the basis that they were made well aware of how much we wanted them. So, if that is the case, we will do well to wait, because I think Blackpool are more likely to go for Holden. If we don't get Duff, my second option from the known list would be Eric Ramsey with Neil Warnock either as director of football, or in an advisory role, perhaps co-opted on to the board. JFH would be my third choice after those two, but Duff is clearly number one for me. Hope we get him by this Saturday.
I see where you're coming from with Ramsey and Warnock but given our dire financial situation I doubt we'd opt to pay a salary for both of those. Colin would be expensive and so I imagine would any coach coming from Old Trafford.
A bit harsh considering he was only interviewed yesterday. He may not even be our first choice.I prefer the thorough approach than just picking a manager to please a section of fans.
when were Cheltenham first approached though, and why has it taken this long? Blackpool turned it round in 24 hours. there's a point where being thorough turns into indecision.
Maybe Blackpool acted quicker than they'd have wanted to knowing otherwise he might have chosen us if he'd been kept waiting. Maybe he's not actually top of their list but they just wanted to check him out while they still had time. Maybe Duff has been the one dragging his feet to see what else cropped up. Maybe it's taken us a long time to try and convince him. Maybe he's not our first choice. There's a whole load of unknowns in the current situation and we're flailing around in the dark trying to second guess what's going on. I'm no fan of our CEO but I'm not going to point the finger at him on this without more to go on than BBS guesswork.
There is a protocol for doing these things and we've adhered to it.Ask permission of the clubs involved and then proceed with interviews. For all we know yesturday might have been the first available date for him to speak to us,holidays etc. Would you have been happy with appionting a coach without any dialogue just going on a whim to please a few supporters. I get the feeling we're back to open season knocking the club by some at every turn.First it was Conway then Ashbagi now its Kahleds turn.I'll repeat to myself the words of Jean Cryne,"We have good people working here and I want the fans to trust us"
I’m not basing it just on this matter alone. Care to tell me what’s actually improved under his reign yet?
