I thought it was a well dodgy penalty in all honesty! I don't get the "if it was against us".. maybe it's because 'us' to me is Barnsley and England

I meant Barnsley bud. I'm not a big fan of international football, other than the world cup in all honesty. And ofcourse when our own players play!

Kane was already beyond 45 degrees in his downward trajectory when the minimal/supposed contact occurred.

If the penalty had been given in real time, I'm convinced VAR would have looked more carefully at the offside in the build up and overturned it!

The ball had gone and so Kane tried to force a penalty. As for the offside, who knows, these days? Kane never touched the ball so was he interfering with play? What even is the rule this week?

That penalty may therefore have been a technical penalty but it was everything that's wrong with football in 60 seconds.

Well done to Harry on becoming only the second player to ever score 50 international goals for England.

Not seen it mate. But surely if he was offside. Prior to the incident that brought about the penalty. It should have still been flagged if the lino thought he was.
as it was the first incident. It would overrule the penalty. ?.

Fortunate pen but I don’t think he dived .

looked offside twice though and would like to know why it wasn’t?

I've just seen it. In today's day and age it's a pen. Sh17 like but it is (bet Huddy fans are fuming after their luck other week v Forest).

As for offside and if I get the rules the Grealish through ball got a deflection off a German player.

Great penalty finish and congratulations Mr Kane.

Can we have five or six more threads about this on here please, tahh very much lol.

Hey at first, I even thought the ball was too pacey and was running away from Kane, but that should not influence a ref should it.
And looking at it again, I think he would have got to it after all, but that then brings the offside question into it, which he was slightly.

The tweet clarifies it but it’s a really stupid rule which I believe is now that a defender has to know if the striker behind him is offside or not before trying to block a through ball as the minute he deliberately touches it he plays him on even it it just nicks his outstretched foot

I don't think it should be a pen, but happy for it to be given if it gets him 1 closer to taking the record off Rooney.

We had one against us last year. Where the defenders interception took it into the opposing offside players path.

I've had that done to me while playing footy. When you're going full pelt and something clips your ankle without warning, there's only one way you're going. And that's down

Looked like a dive to me. The footage I've seen it's not completely possible to tell. The problem is that virtually every player professionally kicking a football these days is a cheat. It's been bred into them and excused by the "he had every right to go down" enablers in the commentary boxes.
That said I'll be delighted to see him overtake Rooney.

The game is being ruined by pillocks in suits messing about with rules which used to be, and should be, simple and straightforward.
