Derby County: Chris Kirchner's takeover of financially-stricken club expected to collapse - BBC Sport
Thanks for that heads up. Just cashed out my League One each way bet on them for no loss! Can always go back in again if the deal is resurrected.
I'm always amazed that football clubs always seem to attract these hangers-on that would get short shrift in any other industry. Don't have the money? Jog on.
I'd take Rooney in a nanosecond. What he achieved last season has been very much under-estimated. Sadly, I think there's as much chance of me getting the job!
Here’s an idea. If Lee and Conway were to give up their shares in us they would then be free to make a move for WRDC. Now that would be a match made in heaven
They'd actually have to put their hands in their pockets to pay the debts, they can't use Derby's money cos the balance sheet is in the red!
An accurate reflection of how things have been going for Derby, albeit its 18 months out of date now:
I agree with this statement. Just how long has this been going on? I thought whoever was in charge of a club has to guarantee there will be a minimum of 12 months funding (for the coming season) for wages etc. If there is no one how or who will guarantee that?
Remember Conway has $75m in his spac of other people’s money. I wonder who is the next target? I also wonder if any of Barnsley’s mystery shareholders have invested in his spac.
Here's an idea. Let them go bust because they have already had far more good will shown towards them than other teams got such as Bury.
If this falls through, it will be the fourth time a purchaser has pulled out since March 2021. Which could suggest all is not as it seems when people start digging.
