Khaled contacted me and asked about JFH. I said it's a no from me. They didn't even need to consult with David, Amanda, Alecia or Simon.
If (and that's an unquantifiably large 'if') Nixon's right about what happened then it could only really have come from Hasselbaink, his agent or someone at Burton. His agent is a small firm based exclusively in the Netherlands who you'd not expect to go running to Nixon and there's nothing to gain from Burton leaking it so it likely came from Jimmy himself - not sure I'd ever want a bloke in charge who goes running to a Scum tittle-tattle journo every time something goes a bit awry for him so pretty glad he's now out of the running. I think also it's telling on the general perception of their relative abilities that eg Duff is linked to other jobs that come up whereas JFH has only been linked to us.
Rosenior very highly rated as a coach - most Derby fans I know say his work is more important than Rooney in them having been able to maintain decent performances on the pitch despite the shambles off it.
Something to ask the CEO isn't it? Not a good look to keep him waiting when he's on holiday. It's unprofessional and disrespectful towards JFH.
That doesn't mean MM got offered the job though mate. Image the conversation... KEA: Hello Mick, would you like to be considered for the BFC Coach? MM: No
I doubt he was offered the job given the elaborate process we're seemingly going through. Just another example of a poorly worded comment.
Doesn’t mean he was offered it. He just said he wasn’t interested. Trust me on that one (from internal and external club sources)
If that has happened, it could just as easily have been JFH's mistake, using the wrong link / wrong time. I'm not particularly bothered about the specifics of this. More bothered about the fact that we appearing to be identifying people we want to approach, then when we get permission, we faff about with a questionnaire, while other clubs actually come in and talk to them.
That's always the issue with communications and why it's vital time, care and preparation are involved before making comment or committing words to paper. You're right in the literal sense in interpreting the quote how you did.
Given we're supposedly using a data based approach, I'm surprised we've been so elaborate with a questionnaire. Surely the data is there already. You can analyse it and identify your preferred candidate in advance with a couple of back ups. You then decisively go to try and get them. There's nothing like feeling wanted. This process doesn't seem to factor any of that in.
