I remember when Danny Wilson went to the pigs and he was asked about the fact they'd offered the job to others - David Pleat? - he replied, "I don't care if I was the hundredth person they asked."
I really don't see it like that. You can say you're not interested in something without being offered it. If I asked you if you were interested in a three bed house in Pontefract, are you turning down buying it from me or just letting me know you're not interested? Or the Porsche I've got parked on my driveway (I haven't).
Guess Khaled slept in ...his bfc wind up alarm clock failed to go off.... Or could the conversation have gone like Jimmy if you've got the job we will let you know on Monday It's Wednesday now and still no call ...big clue he hasn't got the job ...Jimmy saves face by pledging his support and future to Burton
Strange stance to take on an employed professional who's won more as a manager, and achieved more in the game of football, than any of our last five head coaches. Wasn't my preferred choice but I wouldn't be as strong as this.
Either he's a very rare man with some principles or we didn't offer him enough dosh. Either way, Burton are the winners....
The more I think about it. The more I think it's a hard sell being Head Coach at Barnsley F.C. Can't see anyone head strong wanting the job or being in the job very long.
The more this unfolds the more of a farce it’s appearing to be. We will end up with Devaney as head coach.
Especially when the first thing you're asked is to decide where you sit on a scale of Strongly agree to strongly disagree on the idea that chicken flatbreads enhance the matchday experience.
He's got more red flags then the Monaco Grand Prix, as well as the other issues I've mentioned before, he was caught up in a classic Newspaper sting operation on arranging transfers as I recall, he doesn't strike me as the sharpest tool in the box and his playing career is irrelevant - plenty of average footballers make great coaches, and plenty of great players make crap ones. If you take out is first spell with Burton, which was 7 years ago, his record as a manager is poor.
I don’t think we offered Mick the job just asked if he was interested at the beginning of the process Edit - didn’t see all the other similar replies on this
I wonder where we go next? people somehow suggesting it's now 'between' duff and Warnock. personally don't see it that way at all. I think we'll fail to land either of those as well, and will find ourselves onto Plan D...whatever that is. obviously I hope I'm wrong, as I'd be very happy with one of those, and ecstatic at the other.
