    From Blackpools forum.
"The quicker we appoint a manager the sooner we can slate him"
And I just thought it was the BBS.

Every forum will have them. They will also have their section of rose-tinted happy clappers, who defend every Club move to the hilt.

But that's not right is it. Those so called happy clappers will have patience to see how things pan out.
You've already had folk saying I'm not renewing if it's not Warnock. Bonkers.

If I were a regular ST holder, I'd be not renewing if it WAS Colin.

Still can't believe we didn't talk to him last season. Such a poor decision.

I saw on twitter this morning where the Blackpool fans weren't warming to Duff at all. Sighting his record last season. Where he had one spell of 8 games, no wins. Then another spell of 8 games just one win.. Sounds just up our street.
Probably best not to expect a promotion push though next season if Mr Duff is our choice. Not saying he'd be a poor choice but probably more of a slow burner than like the proverbial whirlwind

I don’t agree at all with this ‘if it’s so and so I’m not renewing’. Comes across as very childish to me. But I totally get why the club are under heavy scrutiny. The last two appointments have arguably been our two worst managers ever. As for my other comment, I was intentionally generalising.

Very, very rarely do clubs ever appoint a manager/head coach that fans are universally happy with. Nobody got overly excited about Stendel. A few pointed at his win percentage with hope, others mocked his lack of experience of League One, inability to speak English, and the fact he was sacked in the second division of Germany.

Struber probably faced less scrutiny but still people mocked the size of Wolfsberger and the crowds they would get. Questioning how he’d cope with such pressure and how he was a cheap option - despite costing us c. £400k to release him from his contract.

It’s just football. You’re dubious about the majority of people that come in to the club, and you dampen the ability of the majority that leave the club.

So many people on here were writing Morris off when he signed, but now they insist we’ve got to build our return to the Championship around him.

It’s just football. And that’s what those in charge have to deal with and try and navigate away from with good decisions. Today we’re criticising the club (in some people’s case for the 448th day in a row - including when we finished 5th in the Championship) for a story released by a part time journalist who has an accuracy rate of 2% max.

Personally I think Duff would be a decent appointment..if it's him..
Whoever you set on whether a first time coach or one with twenty years experience, your still just taking a punt. Some, like players, fit a club and some don't. There's no guarantee, if it takes 5 days or 5 months. Employ from within or apoint from the the other side of the world.
That's not just football its life, you never know what will happen tomorrow.

Of the candidates mentioned I also think Duff could be a decent appointment. He's done a decent job on a low budget and, according to my brother in law who is a massive Cheltenham fan (home and away) he's developed players who they've sold on at profit. In that respect he fulfils our job requirements.
However he also tells me what has been posted on here already....that Duffs wife doesn't want to move...she's a Cheltenham lass and their two sons are at good schools down there.
As you say Sopwith; football like life.

Only person named I'm not particularly bothered about is Neil Warnock. There was a time I would have been vehemently against his appointment. He was everything I believed was wrong with football. His moaning and whingeing was legendary. Everything was someone else's fault, usually the referee's, while he coached his players to cheat, to dive, and to foul the opposition, which resulted in injuries. That game against WBA, he should have been banned from football.

But his personality has mellowed as he's got older and while I still don't actively like him, I do concede he's given some good interviews that have shown a lot of insight and are very magnanimous. However, it's difficult to forget just how bad he was. I guess I'm ambivalent towards him now.

I wouldn't give him the job now because even if he did come he'd be giving us a year, max. That's not a criticism of him, he's retired, he doesn't want to do it long term. We need continuity and while I concede you can't guarantee that from any appointment, you should be able to appoint a succession of managers with a similar philosophy. Warnock's style of play doesn't fit with what we want to do long term. We would be hiring him for his man management skills and after he's gone we'd be right back to square one because there can be no continuity when you appoint based entirely on personality.

All the above also applies to Mick McCarthy other than I like Mick a lot and always have.

Everyone else I have no opinion about at all.

Yep, in a season full of poor unprofessional and appalling decisions, that have put us in this position.

Surely out of the shortlist it appears "Sir Alf" is the only one likely to be in, unless Blackpool don't want Duff.

    Am I missing summat?
