Given while 5pm tommorow to prove funding.
Administrators are already looking at other interested parties including one involving Mike Ashley.

American businessman Chris Kirchner has been given until 17:00 BST on Friday to provide evidence that he can complete the purchase of Derby County.
In the meantime, the club's administrators "have taken the decision to engage with other interested parties as a contingency measure".

When does it get real for them? When do they start getting points deducted?

Not yet. The EFL need time to fully assess the level of points deduction that Derby can cope with without risking relegation. They got it wrong last season, so they'll be doubly cautious next time.

Debts are rising as time ticks on. I can't see how they can carry on without a buyer , they'll not be able to see the season out.

Things that I can guarantee. Derby will be buying players we deem unaffordable. Said player will score against us. And they will finish above us in the table having been on sky 10 million times. This is not a slight on khaled. Just the way it is.

I don’t think a points deduction is going to happen until they come out of administration. They can start the season in admin, as long as they pay the bills. If the buyer doesn’t stump up enough cash to pay creditors something like 15%, then it’s minus 15 points.

If they’re not taken over soon though, expulsion and liquidation can’t be far off.

I'm just listening when it comes to things like this Leythtyke.
I don't have a clue apart from what I hear on things like price of football.

I'm amazed that they can start the season again in Administration.
Just looking at the 23 contracts and 2024. They have some decent players. Sibley Bird Knight but Bielik could be the problem. He could dig heels in for the contracts he got and I can't see them putting on a clause for relegation to l1.

    They owe HMRC £36 million.

They owe a finance company MSD £24 million

They have already accrued a loss of £2.1 million with administrators Quantuma.

I stiil believe they owe money to Arsenal for Bielik and surely his curren wages will mean they will true and get him off their pay roll.

Either way they are in the brown stuff.

Too many linrsin the sand have been drawn and they have had long enougj to sort their mess out as they have been in administration since last September.

Im not sure either. Bury werent even in admin but kicked out because the EFL didnt believe they had funding to last the season so how you can be confident that a side in Admin can complete the season is a bit of a stretch
There really do seem to be different rules for "Big" clubs

We werent even allowed to play friendlies when we were in Admin 20 years ago and I dont think we could have started the season had we remained in but we arent a massive club

I'm still reading WRDC as toilet so Derby must really be in the 5 hit.

Doing a bit of research. And found this interesting item. I either have forgot or wasn't even aware that an American put a bid in for us and the EFL rejected it.

In the summer of 2003, the sale of the club appeared imminent on numerous occasions. Initially a deal was agreed between Doyle and Sean Lewis, a California based businessman. This led to the departure of manager Glyn Hodges on 5 July with former Stoke boss Gudjon Thordarson given the job as part of the deal.[2] The deal was ultimately rejected by the Football League who refused to ratify it because they did not believe the takeover would clear the club's debts.

Re the friendlies. Weren't we out of admin. I can't remember not playing any. (By the same token I can't remember playing any lol)

Really surprised you dont remember the Sean Lewis fiasco, though it may depend on how old you are. I guess I remember him quite well and in all fairness the EFL did us a favour by rejecting him, and at least didnt treat us like Bury, and we had time for Patrick to step in.
Though he may have made a mistake asking Risdale to help. Im sure I remember Lewis promising working TV's in the concourse maybe one day...

Only just seen this. I listened til I could but he was still on for another couple of hours. In a nutshell....

Only 5 contracted players. Players not informed of anything and are checking Twitter daily for their info. Players out of contract or negotiating aren't due to the uncertainty. Rumours of a massive cull of backroom/office/admin staff.

He's a very good speaker and with only a season or so until he retires I'm sure he could get a pundit role somewhere.
