Just picked one game out. Shrewsberry, yes Shrewsberry had about 5 chances against us. Also should have had a penalty for a pull in the box on the highlights.
Eh? Now I don't want Stendel back because he's done nothing anywhere but us and his record from our Championship season to present day is awful. BUT he gave us one of our best seasons ever and our defence with Pinnock/Lindsay with Davies behind always looked super solid. Even when our attacking players were having a off day I was always confident we'd come away with at least a point because I was always confident we'd keep a clean sheet.
Yes think it was a record total. Unbeaten at home in the league all year too. As you mention, his passion was so clear for all to see, helped lift the players and fans. Very infectious personality.
''our defence with Pinnock/Lindsay with Davies behind always looked super solid'' The video above and many more with the likes of Cov, Fleetwood blackpool.... says different.
Arguably yes, but ultimately he was sacked for his shortcomings, whereas Jones left for what was seen as a better opportunity, which was the original point.
Every team that wins something whether it be a cup or title has some luck involved. Bet you could find loads of clips where City have been lucky this season or Real Madrid. How many chances did City have against Madrid in the semi? It was loads but Madrid still won the UCL. Overall that season we were great. Never lost at home and blitzed a fair few teams. We scored 4 or more in several matches that season and had two striker with 19 goals I think, both having had spells out injured too.
He was sacked for repeatedly asking for experienced players that could improve his first team instantly rather.
You really are an absolute b3llend. Yesterday you were all for hiring a 30 year old coach with no experience as a manager that most likely used to put the cones and the bibs out in Man Utd’s training sessions, but you’re against someone that’s already been promoted from this league and that has a genuine love of the club and town? Silly me though, I forgot not only do you have a very strange hatred of Bobby Hassell, you also hate anything German. For a self confessed football oracle you really know jacksh1t about football. I’d ask the admins once again why the fk have you been allowed back on but I’m thinking it’s a case of them feeling sorry for you or them just being soft as ****.
In a way yes. But in my opinion we would not have had such an awful start and therefore would not have seen him sacked if the board had not screwed him over by selling Moore, Pinnock, Lindsay and letting Davies go only to replace them with the likes of Halme, Schmidt and Diaby.
Not sure I would have Daniel Stendel back even though let's be honest he has done nowt since he left us at Hearts and Nancy F C. Yes he was a fans favourite (well for many) and we had a fantastic season in his last league 1 season with us but that doesn't count for much in football. We would all be expecting a repeat of the succuss he had last time but that may well not happen.
Totally love Daniel and enjoyed every minute of his wonderful season with us. He was shafted with his best players being sold and inadequately replaced. And he was dumped with 21 words of totally unnecessary bile by those who had ignored his spot-on pleas for the experience which eventually Struber was allowed to have. However I just don't think this is the right situation for him this time round - nothing scientific per se, just a feeling that the situation and the group of players and coaches we have/will be able to assemble is very different.
Good shout out for D Stendle.....Let's not forget Stendel cried out for experience and was denied it by Conway and Conway alone ...you've only got to think back and remember the embarrassing 21worded statement that he also published, to realise Conway was egotistic....everyone at board level hasn't a nice word to say about Conway either and aren't two minutes from distancing theirselves from Conways name and the decisions he made... ... Now if rumours were correct, Stendle did talk to Huddersfield however those same rumours failed to include Conways involvement in it all ....re first of all encouraging him to sound them out further....then kicking off and throwing his Teddy out of the cot when Stendle wouldn't play ball....his way Personally I think Stendle would be a perfect fit mind you, so would Duff and Warnock In my opinion DS shouldn't have been sacked at the time ...bring him home and also bring back his previous back room staff I'd say its unfished business on DS part and no doubt he would jump at the chance to come back. Think he'd be a fans favorite again too. as he was a perfect fit for not only the club, but he also got what the town and its people are about and therefore fitted in nicely.... another plus, no doubt the Garrison would welcome the increase in its profits if nothing else
It was thrilling, frantic, daring football; it was football played the right way. It didn't work in the Champ because Daniel was essentially handed a bunch of kids to work with and we sold Pinnock, Lindsey, Davies and Moore. The highlights you show capture perfectly the high energy press and the way we left it open at the back. We kept 21(?) clean sheets that season. The Shrews goal should also have been disallowed for a shove on Pinnock.
