It does take a few days to get the letters cut in the taty. Hoping to modernise to a john bull kit soon.

One problem with that. I'm not angry or infuriated at all. In fact I wrote that post whole sat eating a bag of fresh warm donuts. Loving life

Can't we just fax all the stuff through to the St Mirren Supporters Club and have the printing done remotely?

Think I've still got some of the jb kit in the loft along with a couple of scalextrics totopley kerplunk and numerous other games from the 60s....plus a bow and numerous arrows that my dad's aunt gave me in 1965 when I was 8
she bought it in the late 40s for her lads to play with when they were young...I also had at one point the straw target too but that was worse for ware and basically dropped to bits in 66... all arrows have metal tips...lol not your usual rubber suckers lol
I also have my battery operated tractor from 1959 and yes I've still got big Ted who's got an eye missing and is thread bare in places lol....think I need to have a clear out lol

My mate's older brother had the bow and arrow and the straw target. We spent ages messing about with it. As you say, the arrows were metal tipped - blunt, but still potentially lethal in the hands of an over-enthusiastic kid. All before some idiot invented Health and Safety, obviously.

Wish I'd kept my old toys, but once I reached teenage I was far too grownup for them, so I got rid. Worst decision of my life. I'd happily play Bobby Charlton's Casden Soccer right now.

Yeah agree when I hit teenage years I also gave a hell of a lot of my stuff away
Most of it went to the children's home in barnsley including my Hornby train set who's track was fastened to a sheet of 8x6 1/2 inch ply along with the model buildings I had...no regrets it went to a good cause

Wonder what the chances are that your mates older brother was me lol

Fair enough. Seems fairly legit then.

Probably only thought it looked a mess because of the wording (stopping to print sounds tinpot) and the general air of s***show around the place recently. Might not have even noticed if this statement came out a few weeks ago.

That’s the problem, isn’t it? If something sounds tinpot it might as well be as that’s the impression people get anyway. We make ourselves look worse than we are for no good reason.

Depends how you look at it and what your own view is. I don't even think stopping to print is as tinpot as some suggest, given movement of seats, short turnaround time vs. other events, the need for new cards vs. the cost of those cards, etc. But that will depend on what industry you've got experience of and what that experience is.

The system should really allow tickets to be sold ongoing and just held, and that's poor on Ticketmaster's side, but from a procurement perspective that 'sell, sell, sell' and then a print window will likely drive the biggest efficiencies for production and resource. Especially given the number across the whole of football. Haven't Ticketmaster got the monopoly on sales in?

That’s what I’m saying though. Stopping to print, to do those other things, isn’t necessarily tinpot but not communicating any of those other reasons is what makes it sound bad (presuming the vast majority of readers of the article have no industry experience and therefore haven’t a clue about the other reasons without being informed of them and so will take the article at face value).

Does it need to be a war and peace update though? Do we need loads of detail behind it?

All down to personal opinion, like I said, but this has been given way too much air time for me. From people who aren't buying season tickets and who haven't been to Oakwell for over five years.

Considering the vast majority of respondents in this thread think it looks tinpot then I'd say that it's a club problem not a fan problem. Again, if the club don't care about looking tinpot then crack on. If they want to look professional then listen to what customers say
