I'm not so sure. There are places I've worked and lived that I have more fondness for than others. And I assume footballers (some of them at least) feel the same.

Thats true, but he can also be a Red, a Red and White, a Blue and a Green and Yellow. The quote often used above , I always take as tongue and cheek because in reality it will very rarely be exclusive.

His time with Villa was 'officially' confirmed yesterday. New player head coach incoming :D

Whilst he didn't pull up many trees at Sheffield United, and he was reportedly quite inconsistent at Swansea the year before, I reckon he'll have a number of suitors in the Championship.

I wouldn't be surprised if he turned up at somewhere like Luton. After all, he fits their scouting criteria of being an ex Barnsley player.

I'd love it if it was sort of feasible and we could do a 'Hammill'. Doubt it even near to feasible like but suppose I'm just dreaming. On the flip side and been practical, exactly the type of player that would enhance and galvanise our squad. Experienced, quality, a leader and loves the club. Ah well....... back off to sleep.

One of only a very small select few that I would have back from the past. You would have to sell a version to him I think if Barnsley were to get him. Coaching badges pathway etc.

Very unlikely isn't it he would come back. But he's the natural leader I think we need. Saying that he was like that at 23

Spot on. For us he knows he's loved and is capable of playing every game. I think to stay in the Championship he'd have to get used to bench warming for most teams. We could help him with his coaching badges as he said he wanted to get in to it one day and it would be like when Hammill returned. It would sell some season tickets as well.

Would love this to happen but just can't see it. Although he did say he would love to come back one day, but would have to take a massive wage drop ih he did

It all depends if he wants a career in coaching/management. If he does then he'll have to take that kind of wage drop for his first rung on that ladder. He's not going to walk into a big job on the strength of his name alone.

Reported weeks ago, he was going to WBA to reunite with Steve Bruce, makes sense.

Can't see a cat in hell's chance he'd come back here at this stage. He will still be able to command a wage, we couldn't possibly match. Who knows if he even wants to stay in football once he packs up playing. He said he'd never rule out a return. But I think that's a long way off yet.

Signed John Swift recently and made Molumby a permanent deal as well as already having Mowatt and Livermore in central midfield.

Now just imagine how better he would be in that role with an extra 8 years of game time. Great experience. In that time will know how to handle a variation of team mates temperaments, know-how in games the team is struggling in and just sheer knowledge of his position and how to handle certain opposition players

This obsession with age is very strange.

He won't be the same guy he was then. He will not have the energy. Won't have the desire and drive.

On a separate sport just been watching a video about McClaren and Lando vs Daniel. One wants it every day. The other doesn't have the pop and fizz

I never mentioned age. I mentioned game time and experience. If a footballer doesn't have drive and desire, they shouldn't be in the professional game, simple as that.

He might end up in Lg one, one day, but not with us. Maybe with the Fowls lol.
And speaking of that, whatever happened to super Sammy Winnall.
