You must be really upset @Bossman as you have used more words than your award winning majority report
Well I for one don't get why we're appointing a shredded wheat haired, deceased boxing promoter as manager. Know what I mean 'Arry.
I see Man City have announced the signing of Haaland, I’m guessing they’ve rushed that through because they didn’t want us to upstage them with the announcement of Duff
Id imagine he will want to asses the players in training before he decides who he sees as regulars and who he wants rid of. We havent gone back training have we?
I'm not sure he'll have direct influence on every outgoing given the circumstances of desperately needing to generate cash.
I'm very pleased with this appointment if we get it over the line. Cheltenham's L2 winning side were excellent, including the season previously where they narrowly missed going up. Reading interviews with him, he sounds very good on the managing people side of it. Motivating players and getting them to appreciate that individual talent alone is not enough. Exactly what this group of players needs. Plus it's refreshing to have someone who knows the league and doesn't need to settle in another country. I hope we stick with him and I'm looking forward to getting back to being a proper football club, with a bunch of younger hopefuls and seasoned leaders striving to win matches. I've not felt this positive about an external appointment since Paul Hart (lol, I know). So if history can be relied upon that means we'll be dire next season, then go up the year after under Disco and sack him when he won't sign Leon Knight
Except if they offered JFH the job and he declined they'd still have to appoint someone else wouldn't they. Not saying that's the case, but JFH publicly ruling himself does not mean he wasn't offered the job and this turn of events proves nothing one way or the other.
I never thought for a second he would i expect players to be sold and he no doubt will have been told the script by us before he told Cheltenham he wanted out. But the massive rush for him to be in today as opposed to tomorrow for what? Players arent back training.. we have our number one target by the looks so credit to the club for that.
A couple of days isn't going to make huge amounts of difference, just that every extra day means he's a little more familiar, a little more settled, knows people a little longer ahead of players returning, knows his way around, where his desk is, what the facilities are. Just little things like that. But I've said all along, as long as we have someone and their team in ahead of the proper pre season, that's the main thing.
All I'm saying is that if he doesn't bring his own staff it doesnt necessarily mean that it's because we didn't let him. Could be that he doesnt want to, could also just as easily be that they don't want to relocate.
He's already not bringing his Assistant Manager judging by this. But then this was an AM he inherited rather than appointed - much like Disco in a way. https://www.ctfc.com/news/2022/june/milton-to-take-interim-charge/
If you read Cheltenham's statement he failed to win any of his first 8 there. Bit of patience might be called for...
