I still have my lime green and purple Big Thing away shirt. IIRC it was supposed to be the next "Big Thing" to hit the internet (in its earlyish days) - some sort of personal organiser that would run your busy life for you. Of course it never took off - but the sponsors did, without ever handing over the money to the club.
They were big sizes as well so fat blokes like me could wear them but walking about with Big Thing on your shirt seemed to cause much hilarity. Let’s hope the new sponsor isn’t Fat Face
Good question lol. I thought they were an internet electronics company, Id obviously never heard of em. And was it in 00-01 when they sponsored us. Which is everybody's best and worst home kit ehh, from all of these ?. http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Barnsley/Barnsley.htm
Does anyone have an FPW shirt on here? They're rarer than rocking horse droppings these days. They very occasionally pop up on ebay, but I've not seen one for a good 5 or so years now. I believe it was a match worn one (maybe Owen Archdeacon from memory). It's the Holy grail for a (Barnsley) football shirt collector.
I have both the home and away Big Thing shirts, but don't recall FPW at all. Were they linked with Big Thing?
No FWP were on the shirts around the Andy Payton days. When they were found to be fraudulent they were removed before the season started and we started the season without a sponsor until ora replaced them. it was the last pelada shirt before we changed to admiral and the away shirt was the green one with thing red and white stripes
Yeah I always wondered why we started season 94-95 without a sponsor on the shirt. And thats obviously the reason why I don't know who or what FPW were, and Ive never seen that shirt before.
People can't wait to see what develops as to which new local company is sponsoring our shirts. I mean company from somewhere in the world. I suspect there will be a development next week before our first friendly next weekend.
There will be a few on here got one. Around the time of the shirt, this very BBS had a fans football team who used to play against opposition teams before the actual BFC fixture. The club donated a set of FPW shirts to them to play in.
The red flag (is oft) one was horrendous. Like wearing a woolly jumper. It had never seen sports material.
For me, nowt is worse than the 89-90 Shaw Carpets piece of filth, with weird stars on it lol. Had somebody been nicking my tabs when they designed it!!.
