Oh forgot about Benson. With the 5 subs rule he will rotate with Kane and or Connell a lot I suspect. In theory we have some good options in terms of attacking mids. Just really lacking in terms of defensive ones apart from Wolfe.

    I'll save this thread.

Duffs already spoke about Benson and the quality he's got.

Course he's got quality, he's one of your Prem U23 creme-de-la-creme.

But don't forget Kane was there too!!

Duff Signed him and further got him to move up north and sign for Burnley. Which I imagine would have had to be some sort of selling masterclass at the time.

Duffs spoke about one player in the team. Think he might have mentioned work rate of Josh too but I might have got that wrong. Listened to a lot since that Ifollow interview. Will likely got and listen to it again.

I just don't want any excuses from Andy or the why are you bringing this up in future. The links are saved in my documents on a word sheet.

That's unhealthy mate. We've all stored things subconsciously in our heads to bring up at a later date, but to do so on paper as you suggest just screams out that you are looking for conflict rather than a grown up online conversation where 2 adults can agree / disagree.

If you are proved right on Kane later this year, you'll find most people are fair and will hold their hands up and say 'Higgy was right' but by the same token you have to learn to hold your hands up too on the odd occasion you are proved wrong. But for Lords' sake don't start writing it all down and losing sleep over it. It's a stressful enough world as it is my friend. This is football. On a forum. It's not life or death.

I don't want to turn this thread to anything other than Herbie.

I think some of the comments by SOME have been awful about him. All I will do is talk about football.

If Andy wanted to disagree then great. explain why. I'll fully respect you. The Butterfield comment above, love it. Something I hadn't thought of and whilst I don't fully agree because I thought Butterfield had things to cover up that lack of pace and played in a team built for him for 6 months at least I can see what the guy means.

But he chooses to comment about me Andy Mac. Strange.

    haha

last season everyone slated Benson so you think he’s great. Everyone wanted Kane back so you don’t rate him.

Absolutely no point in saving posts because even if kane is outstanding all season you won’t admit it.

I promised myself I wouldn’t interact with you this time round ffs lol

It'll certainly be interesting to see if Michael Duff can get positive contributions from the likes of Kane, Benson, Thomas, Aitchison. Hopefully, he will do as, for various reasons, these lads haven't consistently produced the goods for our first team.

If you judge because x people think he's played badly then we wouldn't play anyone. Soubauer got criticism on here after Portsmouth. Hourihane had a Seasonal membership card thrown at him by someone whilst they had an argument during a game. Mowatt was the worst player to touch grass at one point. I could go on.

my point with you is mate. It’s not always about performance why you dislike a player.

You can't blame them for not bringing their families when the average stay is 1year!

Benson looked lightweight last season and was not very combative in midfield, if Duff can get him working hard to win the ball in the middle of the park and also put in a shift then all well and good, but last season he looked way off the mark. Benson has a fresh start and let’s see if he takes it, I hope so.

Don't remember his performance for Donny but agree about the way he played at Bournemouth. Looked like he'd finally found his feet in the division then very disappointingly got injured. Made the decision to send him out on loan for the season seem extremely odd.

How I'd love a Kenny Dougall or Matty James type to sign.
