Find it hard to believe we only got £500k for Woodrow. Perhaps that’s the first upfront payment with further instalments to come, plus other add-ons such as a sell-on %, appearances etc.
OK, you've got a lot of positivity, I like it. I'm not sure about Iseka but Morris (if he stays) is a 100 percenter and will run all day.
Maybe we'll sign more? Just a thought. I expect Morris to go, he's far too good for league 1. I'd expect Devante Cole to go, he's been a flop. I wouldn't be surprised if Iseka went. I think he'd do a job in league 1 but you often find that European players don't generally stick around when a team drops into the third tier (Thiam was an exception, but I got the impression he was settled in Barnsley). Oulare is still out on loan, and presumably we're not paying all of his wages. So that really only leaves Marshy and Bremang. We'll definitely sign more strikers.
Guessing you don't want Brittain here next season. There is a good player there for sure, he showed that during the Val season, just needs right coaching and set up. Rather keep him than have to find a replacement.
I'd say he'd be one of the biggest basket cases from last season. Why carry over part of the problem and have a hangover you don't need. He'd be one I'd move on.
I get what you are saying but if we remove every player that was part of the problem we will have nothing left and you can't sign 10/11 new players and integrate them in one pre season, it's too difficult. He clearly is a decent player as he proved under Val. He was one of the best performing wing backs in the championship that season, with some confidence and good coaching which I think Duff will bring, Brittain will brilliant in League one. Will be very hard to find someone of his calibre on a budget this summer. Gotta keep some of the players from last year in the squad. A spine of Collins, Brittain, Mads and Morris will be great in League one. Fresh start under a new manager and they wont be as bad as last term.
By which time he'll be due a testimonial. Tony Hibbert scored his first Everton goal in his testimonial match. That's after going 18 years and over 300 games without a career goal.
I'd be absolutely flabbergasted if that happens. Not quite arse on the town hall steps territory, but astounded nonetheless. I'd certainly be more confident about the new season too.
Me too. And I I'd only miss out the town hall steps bit because, well, no one does it when they are wrong. I can't see any way that he'll still be here after the closure of the summer transfer window. I put chances at zero.
