Brilliant news. Asking for help is quite often the hardest thing to do. Hope it all works out.

OK mate, just back from a few days with my Dad in Filey. He's really ill, but enjoyed a few days with me & the 3 dogs I walk. Hoping to get him up to Leeds soon. Me & my bro' are looking at options for a semi supported living space, but at least we will both be local, so one of us can call in most days.

My mental health has been much better in recent months, despite losing my Mum, after a battle with bowel & liver cancer.

Not been on here as much, due to lack of time & the fact that the football club situation leaves me with little positive to say on that subject. Decided not to renew & will see how things progress or not over the summer. Will pick games, home & away accordingly.

Really pleased to hear your treatment is going well mate. Talking is a huge positive. Mine has taken a bit of a battering this week, out of nowhere. Difficult to explain when you can't give a reason in the moment, but I recognise the signs all too well. I think I am overworked and overdoing it. I have also had issues at work today that haven't helped, perspective required. One thing we all need is to love one another and show respect. I'm not talking all sunshine and rainbows and nannying each other. But a little love and care goes a long way. An arm round the shoulder, a sincere check in with those close to us, and even those who aren't who we come across in various ways. All the best with your continued recovery/battle mate, and thanks for sharing the update. Love.

    Hi pal.
    Hope it goes OK.
Ive suffered with anxietyand depression for about 15 years now and councelling does help.
Im open and honest about but i know some dont like to share, just do what you feel is right for you.
I do videos on my youtube channel and that keeps me occupied (as well as tykes TV as well) .
Stay in there and it will get better.
    Keep safe pal.
    You reds

And just like that today was my final 1 to 1 talking therapy session.

Opened my eyes with how i can deal better with certain situations or feelings that can cause stress and/or anxiety. The CBT is basically just what i needed and i onow have the tools in place so that in the future a stress/worry/anxious moment can be controlled by me rather than the other way round.

This combined with the right medication for me (after years of trying many different ones) will hopefully help me to lead a more stress free and worry free life in the future.

    Onwards and upwards.

Anyone struggling or would like a chat then please get in touch.

As a not much of a talker i have found talking does help.

Thank you for the updates JT and please keep us updated with how you’re doing in the future, even though your sessions are completed. I’m so pleased it has helped.

Likewise. Mental health is just like any other issue with health. There are ups and downs. What you always need to do is value your health & do things that maintain & improve it. I do this, but sometimes it it's hard to do with life issues. We all need to keep on keeping on.

Happy to hear such positive results, really pleased for you!!
Took me a long time ( too long really ) to try therapy, but i am convinced that it saved my life.
Im glad too that you are able to talk publicly about it because that makes it easier for other people to take the step.

Not always a bad thing mate, and at least you've realised it yourself. Take care.

I agree. I know when I've outstayed my welcome and I'm a bit high because it coincides with me getting too opinionated about random 5hit I don't really care about and winding folk up on here. Not out of boredom or malevolence but I'm just not right.

It's actually one of my triggers. The use of the message board itself.

    Get well soon Jack.

Hope you're on the mend soon. Remember there's a lot of people on here who I'm sure will be more than happy to lend you an ear if needed. If not then we'll hopefully see you very soon on here once you're feeling a bit better.
