Nailed on that as a minimum these 2 will be sold over the summer. Will probably be the standard "undisclosed fee ". But what would you consider to be acceptable fees for Helik and Styles given they are both full internationals however we are now in the third tier?
I reckon somewhere between 3-5m combined I'd say. Depends on how many clubs come in for them and how far up the pyramid they sit. And what clauses they may have in their contracts. If they can get 5m, that would go a long way to covering losses for the year, meaning any other sales are reducing wage bill and putting money in the bank for longer term.
I personally would hope for at least 3 or 4 million for Styles alone given his age and the fact he is playing regular international football now. Posh are refusing to sell their promising young LWB for less than 5 million and he has less games than Styles and no international games either. Helik has been the more consistent performer of the two over the last two seasons, but given his age I would say around 2 million would be fair for him.
Both full internationals for decent European sides. Under normal circumstances we should be looking at £5 million each, but unfortunately as the bottom has fallen out of the transfer market in the Championship and we need to get them off the wage bill, it could be a lot less. However if there is Premier League interest in Styles, then £8 million would not seem unreasonable.
Scott Twine has just joined Burnley for around 4-5 million. Styles has far more higher league experience and is a international. That gives you an idea of what we should be looking for.
£3 - 4million for the pair. Teams will know that relegation means we need the money, and Helik has just a year left on his contract. Styles is an odd one - I would've expected a large fee after the Ismael season, but after his performances last season I wouldn't know what to expect. Interested to see where they both end up. Scott Twine finished the season with 20 goals and 13 assists and was only a year into a long-term contract. Forwards generally command larger transfer fees too. Absolutely no comparison to be drawn between him and Styles.
Very hard to predict, given the poor state of the market, but a minimum for either would be £2 million, given their international status. If we get a bidding war, we could get more and I hope that we do. Forest allegedly interested in Styles, along with some continental teams, so that could push his worth up. I have not heard of interest in Helik, perhaps due to the fact that he was injured at the end of last season, but he was a stand-out performer for me in a poor side last term and I think that he should be worth up to £5 million, but, as stated, the market is depressed and it could be a disappointing outcome. Maybe neither player will realise the reserve amount we have in mind and they might stay at least until January. We'll see.
Whatever the fees we need sell on clauses for both, they’ll both sell in the future for a lot more than we are going to get now. Adding large sell calluses will reduce the up front fee further. I’d happily take 2.5m with 50% sell ons for both. Proper sell ons, not these 50% of profits if over x rubbish They are worth a lot more but with Helik only having a year left, last seasons performances and the fact we need to sell leaves us vulnerable, might have to take these ones on the chin
I think styles is worth a couple of million plus a decent sell on clause. He is young and has got time to develop Helik is more established and was one of the best defenders in the championship last season I think he’s worth about 5 million
A player is only worth what someone is willing to pay but whilst many said we sold Stones cheaply his sale actually worked out well in the end ,so what I am trying to say is that it is not only the initial fee but the way a deal is totally structured which defines whether we end up doing well out of it or not, I know this , the club do right to keep any fees received undisclosed because you do not want our competitors knowing our financial state for when we are the buying club & what ever the becomes public the fan base always have a field day & get hammered, it is far more sensible to keep it in house .
What's the biggest fee we have received for a player without including add ons? Ward was 4.5 million - was Mawson more - can't remember
1.5 mill for Helik and maybe 2.5 mill for Styles possibly with add ons but honestly can’t see us getting any more in today’s market.
Premier league teams interested in Styles. Helik full international. That has to be 8 million, or I'm a ...
It's time to stop giving players away. Stop accepting the first offer. 2.5 million each plus percentage of next sales plus addons for international appearances. Clubs like Peterborough get top dollar why shouldn't barnsley. I wouldbe completely honest with the 2 players as agree they can go but at an agreement that suits us. If clubs are serious they eill do a deal.
Never in a billion years I’m afraid. I reckon half that at most, plus clauses for sell-ons and international caps.
Id say brace yourselves for yet another Brian Rix farce moment were Styles and Helik are concerned....it appears it happens often at oakwell Ideally we keep both and field a strong league one team hoping both shine to the point their stock rises come January, then if need be, sell them both for a very good profit recouping our losses makes sense if the directors can carry thar debt until January
