Bare arse on the town hall steps is definitely the safer option, if you're into making dramatic proclamations.
I think I speak for most fans of Barnsley in saying that I really bloody hope we get him back. Not sure it will happen though, but god I pray it does. What a statement that would be.
Think we would all love that. But also think we are also realistic to know the chances of such a signing is slim to none, sadly
I thought not a chance until I seen him linked with Derby. If he's on the hunt for Money then I don't see us getting him. If he wants more than that. Place he can play and develop coaching which he mentioned before and maybe go into full-time coaching at the youth level then I think we have a chance.
The chances of us getting him are tiny due to the wages etc. We have already had to let Cauley go due to his wages. But, if he is happy to take a much lower wage for now with a raise upon promotion with as you say a clear pathway to coaching, we may have a chance albeit a very slim chance.
Player, coach 2 wages Player coach can afford to pay 1and a 1/2 wages making it attractive good saving there plus further down the line a route into management maybe
That's the set piece's and the captaincy taken care of if and it's monumental if the original Conor from Cork came home. Might add a few thousand to the gate receipts. Anyway let's not get too carried away. But you never know. The big boys above the board might chip in to pay his wages and agree to put him through his coaching badges.
Help pay Conor Hourihane’s wages with a £5k target? What happens halfway through his first week? Do they set another one up?
I know that Phil... but it would certainly go a long way without causing eruptions in the wage structure to securing his signature and let's face it his experience would be immense in league one
