Its certainly an option pretty sure I could sell mine in Farnham and buy something decent in Yorkshire for less than half what I got for mine or in Wombwell for less than a quarter or Jump.would be even better value
Had always planned on 58, but recently found myself wishing my life away waiting for that day, so after a couple of life awakening events that made me think, sod it, life's too short, I'm prob gonna do it 30/11. We'll massively downsize and change our lifestyle a bit, but we'll be happy, meandering. At 54 an half.
Best advice I ever got......start a pension early. I did when I was 20, I know folk in their late 30s saying, should I bother? Oh yes.
I can relate to this....! 52.5 and plan to go at 55 (and take a massive hit in the process) - but as you say, life is too short. Congrats to the OP!!
Congratulations mate! Get yourself a hobby. Both of mine and my partners parents have retired in the last couple of years, and weren't enjoying it until they started filling their time with stuff.
Oh, and another thing, keep your mind active. As others have said, take up a hobby. Or, perhaps, further education.
You'll find it's like the xmas holiday fortnight, not a bloody clue what day it is, once you're used to that it's ace,,,
Good luck with pension that'll pay you enough at 57! Been paying into one since I was 16 and the expected income from it means retirement is a pipe dream.
More than one way to make a living mate ....... cash rich from savings, or property for example. In my case, I have more in my ISA than I have in my pension ......... still not enough to call it a day though :-(
Am also retiring at Christmas and also took the advise when I was 20 to join the pension fund. have done the last 10 years on part time...good luck NYR yll love it..
