    Worse than that. Skwarkbox is a left-wing outlet, still upset that their Messiah proved to be unelectable, so look for every opportunity to trash Starmer since he became leader (see also The Canary).

    They enable Tory governments, but claim to be socialists in the process.

    He did. But if it comes to that, anybody that thinks it will be cause for celebration because Starmer isn’t left wing enough will be in for a shock.

    Personally, I’m frustrated by Starmer, but if he ends up resigning because of a hatchet job by right wing media after he had a bottle of beer with a curry when working late, then it’s a disaster for our democracy

    Nope - with such a big majority, Queenie would tell him to go ******** if he visits to dissolve parliament. She'd then ask Starmer to try and form a government.

    Dissolving governments is usually when the largest party has only a small, or no overall majority and is struggling to get anything through parliament. With such a large majority, it would be perfectly reasonable for her to decline his request to dissolve his govt & call a GE, on the basis that with such a majority, he should just be cracking on. If he's not happy with that, she's allowed to ask the next biggest party to try and form a government.

    Major caveat, she probably wouldn't want the grief at her age.

    This is nonsense. You're conflating the ability of the monarch to allow a smaller party to try to form a (likely coalition, but possibly minority) government in the event that the largest single party cannot form a government following a general election. Once a government is formed the Royal Perogative to dissolve Parliament is exercised on the advice of the Prime Minister. In any event, why would Keir Starmer want to lead a minority government with an 84 seat deficit? It'd be a hiding to nothing.
