Not quite what happened. They took a guess but some of them were quoted too low, with Schmidt being too high.
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patrick-schmidt/profil/spieler/297590 That website says 1.08 million we paid.
One of the big problems with the internet is.. over information.. just because its written down somewhere doesn't make it true.
But why would any random website actually know? Especially when all our fees are declared as undisclosed. It's sheer guesswork.
We were daft enough to offer him a new contract and now are daft enough to let the saga run on and on. Withdraw the offer from him, announce he's gone and let's move on.
How do we know he's been offered a new contract, as a striker, or even as a player ?. He might make a good new kit man or a new groundsman (whatever that means!).
Loko without fueling the argument especially with the price of fuel these days lol have you any idea what we actually paid for him thxs in advance buddy
I don’t rate Vic & think it’s time he left but it’s a sign of how bad many of our other forwards have been during that time that he’s played so often for us. I share the view that our problems have been down to players like Schmidt, Oulare & Leya Iseka that we’ve paid good money for or put on good contracts who’ve delivered very little. At least Victor hasn’t took big wages from us. Woodrow has done well for us over the duration of his time with us but last season he was pathetic. A captain that spent the first 4 months of the season not challenging for headers despite been 6 foot. I’ve never seen a forward give defenders an easier job. At least rough them up a bit & let them know they’re in a game. Since he got his contract improved last summer & allegedly got into the 10k plus bracket it felt to me like he couldn’t be bothered. I think we’re pretty lucky that a championship clubs took his wages on. I wouldn’t have & I don’t think he’s a player that suits Nathan Jones style of play.
Well he was on our retained list so that means a player. But if he hasn’t signed yet (I’m sure he hasn’t or the club would have announced it) unless there are some behind the scenes discussions the fact he didn’t turn up for training looks to me like he is going. Problem is if the club withdraw the contract I think they lose a chance of a fee when he signs for Luton* * Luton best guess as that’s where most of our players end up
Not sure we'd be entitled to a fee for Vic, given he's turned 24. Maybe for Palmer, but seen some suggestion that there's no fee for him either, given he moved abroad.
Agreed 53 goals in a 150 starts is phenomenal especially in a team that struggled for a good percentage of that time. https://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=57719
