Kyrgios did a wind up job on Tsitsipas and the officials lsst night and it worked. The guy is an arrogant A1 a**hole. Lack of respect shown towards opponent, officials and the competition.
Im glad you're enjoying it, but best sporting tournament in the world? Each to their own, but I can think of far better tournaments, Wimbledon throws up some good matches now and again, but, for me most of it is bland at best.
Each to their own for sure. I think it's a classy affair. well put together and organised. attracts the best players. Great history. Great atmosphere.
Having spent a year of my life there, arrogance and a lack of class is something that afflicts many Australians unfortunately.
My daughter had a similar experience, not a fan of them. As for Kyrgios he’sa world class c u next Tuesday. People defend him saying tennis needs more “characters”, yeah cos abusing line judges and belittling people in the crowd is just what we need more of in this world, utter tool.
Loads of empty seats on show courts this year. Cost of living (95 quid in early rounds), wrongly banning Russian and Belarus players making the event weaker, no ranking points making it more of an exhibition event and Federer being injured.
Always used to think the same about John Mcenroe, would always start shouting at the umpires when his opponents were doing well.
Interesting point that Helen. Back in the day when Johnny Mac argued with the umpires he was roundly booed. Last night the arrogant p**ck Kyrgios was cheered by the crowd for his antics. Sport reflecting society.
With respect, under the rules, his opponent should have been disqualified for deliberately hitting the ball into the crowd. His frustration seemed to be that the umpire and referee didn't believe him or checked the video replay. Incompetence on a grand scale, I think his reputation affected their behaviour. I don't know if the spectator was injured or not but really that's irrelevant.
Kyrgios is a absolute Bell end. However he was right about one thing despite the provocation Tsitipas should have been defaulted for hitting the ball into the crowd. That said Kyrgios could be defaulted everytime he sets foot on a court.
https://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/scores/schedule/schedule15.html He is where he should be tomorrow on centre court. Love him or hate him he's one of the biggest draws.
