If we were both at full strength our batting would have taken apart their bowling. Full strength Yorkshire could give international teams a game.

So who are you leaving out of the strongest side? The guy that scored 30 off 14 balls to get you to a competitive total?

I’ve no idea who would win, but I think Surrey were missing strong players at the death with both bat and ball, and you can’t easily replace that. Replacing Roy with Burns will never help either.

That’s why Yorkshire’s depth is so impressive.

We'd definitely have got more runs with Brook in the side given his form

But who’s place in the side would he have taken?

I missed the start of our batting but it was a much closer match than I thought ut eas going to be. Think Croft was on our side commentating!

Not sure who came in for him as i missed the early part of the innings, but that person? Him and TKC as a partnership surely would have added 20+ more?

I’d probably drop Allen to bring him in now. But it’s difficult to say whether they’d have scored more runs, when someone like Fraine has come in and played a good innings himself. Similar to saying Surrey would’ve scored more runs with Curran in the team. They might have lost that innings from Overton.

My main point in previous posts where that death bowlers are like gold dust in t20, and Surrey were missing two last night.

I will probably miss a name and aren't we without an overseas player for finals day? We were lucky to have Allen last night and Shan Masood has already left Derbyshire before their quarter final due to international duty. I will probably miss someone and we've that many good players someone else will do an 11 and have it different. But a team like this on finals day would walk it....

    1) Johnny Bairstow
    2) Adam Lyth
    3) TKC
    4) Dawid Malan
    5) Joe Root
    6)Harry Brook
    7) David Willey
    8) Jordan Thompson
    9) Will Fraine
    10) Matt Revis
    11) Dom Bess

That is made of players we currently know are fit and able to play first team Cricket which is why I haven't picked Balance, Coad, Fisher etc.

I think Shadab would get in and Fraine out.
    Looks a strong side though

Very strong team, but never any guarantees in t20, where it is a bit of a lottery. Yorks got into positions against Lancs where they should've won both games, and fell short each time. I remember seeing Yorkshire needing something like 7 off 5 balls, with two of the best batters in the world (Root and Williamson) at the crease, and didn't make it.

For all the big name players in there. Who bowls at the death alongside Thompson? Who's the fifth bowler? Who is the finisher with the bat, given Yorks seem to have struggled when chasing in close games this season?

That said, if Lancs win on Friday, I would expect Yorkshire to beat them in the semi final. Lancs depth is shocking really. Might get better if players like Salt and Parkinson get central contracts which will give funds for reinforcements.

Just a reminder that Yorks. play Surrey again in county game at Scarborough on Monday.
If anyone is visiting the East coast next week, pop in and grab a deck chair !
Both sides will again be without key players so it’ll be close

Ballance got a century in second innings to guide us to victory in 2nds match.
Got to be good in time for Royal London Cup and rest of county games

15,000 at Birmingham at short notice when it's clashing with a England game. People care about the T20 domestic tournament but the ECB don't. Mickey Arthur is spot on with his views. Looking at the ODI squad that has a match next Sunday we should surely be able to have Malan for finals day and I suspect Willey will be released again if he isn't in the eleven for the day after. Khan isn't in the Pakistan test side so he should still be available, but Allen I think will be gone. So if we don't get Willey again and Malan we could end up with a weaker finals team than in the quarters.

I think there's a good chance that Brook will be made available. Willey less so, because he's probably more likely to play a 50 over game over Curran.

Top 2 favourites gone. Birmingham got thrashed.
As much a chance of any of the others now for me.
