PM's always stay in place until a leadership election is concluded. As much as I dislike Johnson & am glad he's gone we do need someone at the helm until this is resolved. I think the only way Johnson wouldn't be acting PM under convention is if he resigned as an MP, then it would be the Deputy PM that would stand in.

I can imagine Johnson sat watching ‘Darkest Hour’ last night in his deluded world thinking he was Churchill.

Only a completely deluded fool would have tried to hang on to power……

Absolutely stupid idea - he needs to go now and they put a caretaker PM in place whilst they figure out who to elect as their new leader
Scarily that really should be Raab - though if he wants to run for it properly that would be a problem
Maybe go for a Tory Lord such as Hague if he would do it for 3 months ?

Adam Murray to be put in place until we get an unknown Austrian PM in on the cheap.

His chance to go on his own terms has been and gone. If the country needs a temporary replacement then there are enough elder statesmen and women within the Conservative ranks who could do the job. However, I don't see any reason why they can't replace him immediately as the country needs it.

Will they be toppled by February or snatched next Summer by Germany?

In most walks of life, anyone who is 'surplus to requirements' (to put it mildly) would be ...err..'offered' i.e. 'placed' on gardening leave until the date where they officially leave their post. The number 10 cat could probably fill in until then in the meantime and catch a few rats to keep the media and oppostion a-mews-ed.

Extremely it would appear. Absolutely crazy that he is allowed to stay let alone pick a new cabinet.
