If he does indeed stay on as PM till the Tory party conference in October, PMQs should be entertaining.....
Surely the Tories will want to complete a leadership contest before the summer break - end of July? Otherwise he's never going to leave without a police escort.
Surprised he wants to hang about. I suppose there will still be plenty of time to make the tens of millions of pounds he will in the years to come.
Of all the scandals and lies, he managed to swerve and of all things a sex pest is his undoing, if pincher had a stayed in last week he'd still be in office
Yes, But for how long? That enquiry in the Autumn could well have been his final nail. Even then Thinking about it, the way he was going the next scandal (by himself or another Tory) was never going to be far away.
Genuinely think he will have a few more plays left in him yet to try and cling on to power. He's not actually resigned... as far as I can tell.
That's the fear. There's a difference between saying the party have decided they want a change, and him actually saying he's going. Months of culture wars coming up, based on the idea that if you win an election, you can do whatever you want, legal or not, until the next election.
Alexander Johnson has now been responsible for the downfall of the last 3 Conservative Prime Ministers - and will likely be the cause of the next losing the next election - and we don't even know who it is yet...
A PM can normally muster up enough MPs that support him to form a Government. Not sure Johnson can do that after 59 resignations, on top of the 41% of MPs that have already voted against him in the no confidence vote. Also - He should've been sacked in disgrace, rather than resign. But he appears to be accountable to nobody.
Well he's not actually offered his resignation to the queen. Instead, he's said that the party don't want him, named a new cabinet and is now having a cabinet meeting.
He is doing what he always does - says what people want to hear kicks the can down the road and hopes something comes up. I would expect him to manufacture a crisis or war to move the goalposts again before September so that he has to stay on a bit longer. its essential the Tories do the right thing for once and force him to go and put in a caretaker PM whilst they get their act together
