    Foolishly I did a reset on my pc thinking it would refresh and get my computer tip top.What in effect I did was lose all my data.I'm setting things up slowly but I wondered is there a way to get everything back on my pc like it was prior to my reset. Thanks

    Unless the reset reformatted the hard drive, all your data is probably still there. Wouldn't know where start trying to recover it though....

    If you can take the HD out and mount it on another computer you might be able to find some software that could read the "empty" parts of the disk.

    Most of your data will still be there, your computer just doesn't recognise it. When you delete something from a disk or do as you have done it doesn't actually get deleted it's just marked as deleted. You can get software that can read the data and restore it so your operating system does recognise it. However, you have to be quite experienced and I'm guessing, judging by the fact that you have just wiped everything by resetting and not backing up, that you're probably not an IT specialist (no offence intended). Your only option I would therefore suggest would be to pay a specialist to do it. Search "data recovery services". I would imagine it'll be expensive though.

    Another problem I'm having is accessing online banking.I can get the website up but when I click login nothing happens so I'm not getting the option of entering my login details.

    When upgrading, Windows creates a folder on the C drive called windows.old that stores old settings and data after such upgrade. This isn't normally the case on a reset but might be worth a look see if it there.

    You could use the free version of Stellar Data Recovery, depending on how much you deleted. The free version can get up to 1GB back. It's pretty straightforward to use, just download it and follow the instructions wizard thing.

    Genuine advice, take it into a shop. It sounds like any procedure is probably going to be a bit too techy for you to do yourself. That’s what IT techs are there for.

    There is a piece of software called Disk Drill which recovers data - might be worth a look

    Computer update.After a lengthy chat with my brother in law I'm now sorted.Most of the lost data is replaceable and the banking issue was solved by switching my WIFI off on my phone,then logging in on my phone and hey presto I could instantly log in on my pc.I'm no wiser how it works but it has.Thank you all for your contribution.
    By the way brother in law is a Forest fan and he never rubbed it in.
