no chance of bairstow/root released sat with the sun eng game and wonder if malan/willey/brook may need a rest if not in 50 over game due to being overworked this week! the ecb have made a total **** up and probably intentional with what most of didn't really want at 1st but it's here and now pretty good, **** the 100, i won't be going to any
v'blast can be pot luck, it can click and game won, to be honest this year has been good and i'm not just saying that cos we're in the finals day, but i hate the fact that quite a few teams have had to do without key players due to the ecb cramming in everything to free up the tonne in prime month of aug for more tv money on the flip side it's like the man city b-team getting to the semi-final of the league cup then ousted for the glory players to enter though footy & cricket ain't the same in terms of pay i'm not going to any 100 game but planning on a royal london game or 2
Royal London has been demoted in quality because it's played when The Hundred is, but it's given 'lesser' players a chance to play regular Cricket for a first team trophy and get noticed. I didn't mind The Hundred too much but preferred then female version as it gave their game a real boost. Superchargers Women this year with three big name overseas batters at the top of the order stand a chance. Then you have someone like Mady Villiers who people won't have heard of last summer but played really well and broke in to the England limited overs team. She got four wickets at Headingley today but they still lost to Northern Diamonds.

Brook, Salt and Parkinson released for finals day. Assume England have just chosen to release the players that do not have a central contract and pick an unchanged team for the last ODI
I feel the most for David Willey. He's our captain and missing finals day. He's captained us through the tournament with weakened teams to put out and having to use a number of different overseas players and now he can't play the main day. Not particularly fair that Lancashire get two guys released by England and we only get one.
But one of those two released by Lancashire is nowhere near getting a game for England, as they seem to have lost confidence in Parkinson during the t20s. They may as well have released him from the ODI squad from the start. He'll also be lucky to get a game tomorrow. Also, Yorkshire will have two players in Malan and Bess, who's availability is controlled (or at least partially in the case of Bess) by the ECB. Given the ECB pay their wages, you could argue that Yorkshire are benefitting from a subsidised team.
Yorkshire are only getting one player from the England T20 squad and Lancashite two players. Other formats it doesn't matter. I bet the players missing are annoyed as given a choice they would all want to play. There is no reason guys can't play both days. Saturday they would play at most 80 overs and then 100 overs on Sunday. 180 over two days is the same as you would in a test match situation.
Apparently the ECB still get some say in what games they are available in, but not total control. Livingstone is also on an incremental contract, and not played for Lancashire since the England squad went to play the Netherlands. Willey should be playing imo. Shouldn't be any non-contracted players held back. But my point still stands. Yorkshire have two players paid for by the ECB, one of whom is on a full contract and was not long ago rated as the best t20 player in international cricket. The fact that England called up Parkinson, who is not contracted, and it would seem, nowhere near playing an ODI for England, and arguably wouldn't make Lancashire's best 11 is hardly cause for woe is me talk from Yorkshire.
