I thought we signed Paul McGugan from Rangers, and Jim O'Brian from Motherwell.

Remember we signed Andy Payton from Celtic, in the Biggins swap deal.

We signed McGugan from Celtic. O'Brien was signed from Motherwell, but started his career at Celtic.

    Yep
I remember MacDonald coming on as a sub in second half and then got subbed off later.
    Didn’t think it was permitted

We signed Gordon Boyd from Rangers in 1980. When we signed John MacDonald in 1986, we signed him from Charlton Athletic. However, he started his career at Rangers.

Ohh well, you learn summat new everyday. :)

I don't remember Gordon Boyd to be honest.

Din't MacDonald once score with a lob from near the halfway line, against Grimsby in the relegation struggle in '87 ?.

Him and O’Connell came on as subs and both scored to win at Elland Road in ‘90.
We were the only team to win there all that season and they got promoted to win the title 2 yrs later.
Probably the most memorable away game I have ever been to …. I think

I remember he’d been on loan somewhere but always thought he came from Rangers

I'm probably wrong, but I thought he'd played for Charlton, signing for them in the Summer of 1986 from Rangers. Unfortunately, he couldn't settle down South. and signed for us November 1986.

He’d been on loan briefly to a first division side but that could have been later.
Didn’t he go to Scarborough after us ?

He left for Scarborough in 1989, who were managed by Ray McHale at the time.

The actual name of the Tory Party is the Conservative & Unionist Party. You'll only see it described as such in Scotland, but it is.

That said I take everyone as I find them. People need to move on.
