Sounds particularly stupid if you could just work from home.

My sympathy is with those who have no choice but to work in this heat and in particular those who will be working in already hot conditions that are intensified by this heat.
Workers in factories, warehouses and Kitchens. NHS staff working in Old buildings with no air con and little ventilation.

Email HR and explain that your line manager isn’t in and ask if they can approve it. Failing that, contact your line manager’s line manager.

It is sunny with clear blue skies and 24c atm.
So quite pleasant. I’m soon to take a wee trip out to Forfar. Nice drive through the countryside.
Our temps reported to peak at 25c.

His boss is the CEO, so not a lot of point with that one. Line manager has been in touch, told to turn all the fans on and drink plenty of fluids. I'd not considered that.

Cant beat those temperatures. I went inland to Forfar today. Always a little warmer being away from the coast. Car suggested it peaked at 30.

Our power's been off for a couple of hours now. Stuff in the freezer's fu¢ked, but I'm hammering my way through the ale while it's still cold.....

If you don’t open the freezer it’ll be good for 24-48 hours (depending on the size of it and how full it is). Fridge will be good for about 4 hours but again, DO NOT open it.
