In hindsight RNL should never have started first team football so early, lets hope we've learned our lesson. Fat chance.
This is brilliant news! As good as a new signing, although I know he will have to be brought on gradually. I saw a sixteen-year-old Trevor Francis score all four goals for Birmingham City in a 4-0 defeat of Bolton Wanderers. He was good enough to make most 'beer and fags' defenders look like pensioners, so I hope Jalo can do the same. Another great coup for manager and board - well done, chaps!!
True. If so why hasn’t contract length been disclosed? We’re usually pretty upfront with the information.
Good news. Even if it only means we get a fee for him. Be good to see him around the squad in the next couple of seasons.
As I’ve said before on here, John Breckin, who was assistant to Mark Robins, told me that in his opinion Noble-Lazarus had his career ruined by being pushed too early.
He was playing for the U18s at the age of 12. Made his debut as sub at 15 Made his first start at 17yrs 8m Lad was the best prospect I've ever seen at tarn at youth level. Shame injuries blighted his career.
I have no idea whether he was pushed too early or not but he was obviously a talented kid who didn't really look out of place at the time. From what I remember he seemed to suffer alot of injuries and his physique changed immensely, became alot stockier and muscle-bound
He was certainly beyond his years physically at a young age. And at 15 he was definitely a match for the 18 year olds.
Ian Hume told my old man that he was the best player at the club & he couldn’t understand why Davey wasn’t playing him more.
It's a great signing. We're not bombed out with talent up front so with 5 subs no excuse for him not to get decent minutes every week.
Do the rules say 16 years old,can only sign for 2 years max and then have to sign another professional contract at 18 or be released?
No. He can't sign a professional deal until he turns 17. He will have signed a 2-year Scholarship which would start on the 1st of July Normally. This says he or someone agreed for him to sign a professional deal in principal which will be signed around the time he turns 17. If you look at Tom Wooster who left for Manchester United in November 2020 if I remember correctly. He signed a Professional deal slightly after his 17th Birthday. https://www.manutd.com/en/players-and-staff/detail/tom-wooster https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...-news/tom-wooster-man-united-academy-23644870 Those articles tell us. He turned 17 at the end of March 2022. Joined the u18s 1st July 2021 and signed a pro deal 9th April. Which I would imagine would have been an agreed deal when he joined at u16 level.
Not sure. In Spain, it was and still maybe 18 which was the reason Pique/ Fabregas / others ....... joined English teams.
