You jest. However, If he gets back to fitness I'd like to see him in a Red shirt if we're paying for him.
Agree, why would people not want them to leave a departing message on the official site? It’s up to the individual if they think it’s sincere or not, but leaving without saying anything when they have the opportunity to do so, in my eyes is a bit disrespectful
That article tells me he was one of those who Duff didn’t want around - the ones who didn’t want to be here in league one and should ask themselves why they should be championship when they should look in the mirror to see why we were relegated. No problems from me, sorry to see him go but in all the circumstances it’s entirely understandable from our side. It was always going to be Brittain, Woodrow, Styles, Helik and Morris to go - they are/were our best players who have shown to be championship quality - last season excepted. Anderson and Collins the two other maybes, depending on interest in them. Got to trust the club to recruit well to fill the vacancies now - a strong manager, and a new board trying to plug a loss in millions.
It's more me asking why it's a new thing? I get players posting on Twitter or Instagram a goodbye message but don't know why recently it's a new thing for the official site.
According to the Rovers Director of Football Callum is “physically robust”. Eh?? Has he mistaken our former player for someone else?
Don’t think it’s a ‘new thing’ on o/s but does seem to happen more often nowadays, perhaps it prevents the negative replies and other crap they might receive on Social Media?
You don't need to use them sites to see the posts so it's easy enough for someone to Google something like "Callum Brittain Twitter" to see if he's done a tweet. I just don't get why it's a thing all of a sudden. We didn't do it in the old days when social media wasn't around and it's then when it would have made more sense.
That's how it should work, but it's not how it has worked. When Paul lets-play-CEO, best-transfer-window-ever Conway has a stab at player recruitment, this is what we get. As for the red shirt, I've seen some lovely examples on offer in TK Maxx, I reckon Obbi would look quite fetching in one. As for the red of Grove Street, I can't see it. The guy just doesn't look like a footballer. I watched a bit of RWD Molenbeek's friendly recently with Obbi up front.. deary me. I don't wish ill will on anyone, but it looks like he has cost the club a small fortune with no return. I think he should maybe have a backup plan in his life as professional football doesn't look to be for him.
I suppose some people just don't want to go on those sites - me included. Twitter is a dark dark place. And I'm really not that invested to google 'Callum Brittain tweet.' I would much rather read it in an exit article from the club. I don't understand why it bothers you to be honest mate.
If I was a footballer there's no way i'd be on social media. I'd take Roy Keane's advice. It's just not worth the hassle.
Can you please stop posting about football. It's getting in the way of all the "Why do players have farewell messages published on the official site?" fun.
Wish him the best, though there were times last season I was really disappointed in him. I can forgive errors from trying, I find it hard to forgive those who tank, at times don't try and then swiftly seek to blame others.
