Yep - Think we'll be seeing a fair bit of Jalo and Marsh this season with young Dyer not too far behind them
From a selfish point of view I would really have loved to see Bayley progress and see what he's all about - hopefully we will one day when he beats this nasty disease! Very excited to see these 3 lads you mentioned though over the next couple of years! I'll add Flavell to that too
How good was Wooster that signed for united? Shame he left but impossible to turn them down at that age.
10 good games from Jalo and he'll be flogged. Wouldn't be surprised if there isn't some kind of release clause in the contract he's just signed.
I believe he got academy player of the year before he left, same as Jalo got now - fortunately we've managed to tie Jalo down for now. As you say, any young player at that age being able to turn down a club like United is basically unheard of. I don't really know how or if he's progressed in united's academy, but it'd be nice to see him out on loan over the next couple of years, he signed a pro contract a couple of months ago so I assume he's doing well bud.
Same for most clubs unfortunately, bud. Just something we have to deal with. We just need to make sure we get decent money, and an even better sell on clause to cover their potential. Technically every single club, with the exception of the very, very elite ones, are selling clubs. Look at Southampton for instance, Bale, Walcott, Van Dijk, Mane, Shaw, Clyne - that's just in recent(ish) years.
Dyer joined his Dad on the clubs first podcast episode, very well spoken, smart, sounds like a fantastic prospect
after watching u18 on open day we seem to have more than 3 prospects, sorry but dont know names but the number 7 for us in midfield looks very good also 6 is very good no one looked out of place and managers and coaches should be apploded for the style of play well done young men keep it up
Arsenal spent 10 years in the wilderness with "a great team in prospect from the players coming though." It's only after Wenger was finally taken out back and dealt with that they started buying players who were good now, but it was a ll a bit too late and they've been trying to catch up ever since. the point is, none of them are up to it now, and we really need players now,
They've regressed massively since Wenger left. Probably not your best example because, even though he did try buy potential, he bought prime/experienced players too. Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang and Lacazette were among his last signings before leaving
Aubameyang was technically signed while Wenger was there but he wasn’t his signing. From a league position they didn’t finish higher then 3rd for years and years- expectations were not met because they didn’t buy experience. They were still considered a top team while under performing. Now they’re relegated down out of likely winners because of the spending power of other teams.
Wenger finished 2nd 6 times if it wasnt for sir alex a all time great he would have won the title more times, he had arsenal qualifying for the champions league consistently and spent little on players he was a great manager imo
