I've sat in the family stand for the last 15 year with my kids and dad . Not renewed this year as yet . Most likely going to sit in the west terrace with the lads as kids not bothered and my dads unwell . Can someone explain why the west terrace is so expensive ? Why is not the cheapest in the ground . Probably the worse view, awful food and the toilets are something from the industrial revolution. £25 match day prices is way too much
Not much to criticise within that. A simplified pricing structure, compared to the various categories, and a genuine attempt to make the cost of away games reasonable via the reciprocal offer. Its bonkers that there's a £20 price cap on away games in the Premier League and not elsewhere, but at least we're attempting to replicate it for our own supporters. Credit where it's due. That's a better structured offering that I'd been expecting.
Happy that we're looking at doing £20 is plenty. I'd certainly go to more away games if we've agreed reciprocal pricing with some clubs.
It’s £30 cap on away games in the premier league but I do get your point still cheaper than what we will pay at Hillsborough
If the AWAY team agrees to £20, then we can reduce the price for HOME supporters from £23/£24/£26 to £20/£23/£25. Why can't we just charge the HOME supporters the lower amount anyway?
Gotta charge the same as the opposite end. So if it's twenty behind one goal it's twenty behind the other.
Thanks for the correction. Still a good benchmark to argue that twenty is plenty with regard to League One football, with perhaps the Championship sitting in the middle at £25. I remember an opening fixture at Swindon being priced at £30 when we first dropped down to League One level, so probably 2002. Stupid pricing then, and still inappropriate 20 years later.
There are restrictions in place to prevent clubs from discriminating against away fans. Equivalent areas in the stadium have to be priced consistently.
"Khaled has personally contacted all clubs....." Really? Did he ring his counterpart at everyone of them? Or typed and sent them all a letter or email? Or rather initiated it with his team? More and more convinced there's a campaign underway to persuade fans he's a really super duper CEO.
Not unrealistic at all to think that he would have emailed 23 people. Stupid thing to try and pick him up on.
are these the new rules? I'm very certain I've been charged more for an away fan, both in the opposite stand and also to sit in the same stand at away games. I haven't been to many away games in the last few years though.
I wasn't picking him up on it. I was making an observation that he's being referenced in lots of things atm. My view is that good leaders don't claim the credit, they pass it on to their team. Imo Khaled is being referenced in lots of communications and appeared in posts like the Norwood thing with Toby. More so than previously. In which case, either he's directing it or the communications team are doing it. Either way I believe there's a campaign underway to position him in a more positive light.
They've been around for years. I did some work at a Championship club back in the year 2000 and had to explain these rules to the CEO at the time to explain why his ticket pricing strategy for the new season wasn't going to fly.
then other clubs haven't been applying the policy correctly then, as I've been charged more as a Barnsley fan to sit in the same stand as the home team supporters. Can't remember the game but the difference was about £5
Depends what early bird pricing was available, as clubs could advance sell tickets at a discounted price compared to on the day pricing. We've come up with various ways to work around the rules whilst technically sticking to them, as have most other clubs.
I'll stand corrected. Sure I was told a few years ago. Promotional ticketing on limited occasions can be introduced for home fans. As for example Reduced price. I think as quoted elsewhere on a rare occasion I've paid more than home fans for the same view. quid a kid. 5 match purchase. If rules of prices are fixed. As others claim. I'm guessing all away fans that travel tut well in august. Will only be charged £20 adults for example. irrespective of reciprocal pricing .?
