Interesting we’ve managed to keep it under wraps which would make me think it’s someone slightly under the radar. Glad someone had a medical after I’d said it though!

    That's a bit dramatic.

Luton are just better run than we are. Both last season and most probably now. and maybe forever.

Duff hasn't been in charge of a league game for us yet. Who knows what's going to happen?

Anyway, I'm getting miffed with this continuing obsession with how we've lost 6 million and how we've got to put that right.

Undisclosed fees make it impossible to compute anything so why bother? All you'll discover is that at the end of the day we've got a mediocre team but at least our owners aren't out of pocket. Thanks oh worshipful owners.

We've got a board selling our best players at the moment seemingly willy nilly. They can't seem to sell the remaining "good" ones that we need to get rid of for a decent price (I can well believe after last year that Styles is short of suitors).

Yet tons of posters think this is great and sensible and inevitable and what every relegated team has to do.

Well it might be if I myself owned BFC . Cos I'm often skint.

Let's face it if you own a football club then there's more likely a financial hit coming your way. If you can't cope with that - if you think running BFC is going to make you money and you're not prepared to lose it - then you're stupid and you should leave it to someone who's stupid and is prepared to lose money.

I'd like to know where the nouse in our club will come from such that we know that the product on the pitch will improve.

It won't be from the owners - they've just shuffled the Titanic ownership deckchairs after going along for the ride for quite some time, and now are reaping the consequences of their own inactions by selling assets to avoid the iceberg.

So we're praying for a coaching miracle . Good luck Mr Duff.

We've sold 3 players. We're skint and need money. We turned multiple bids down for those 3 players by all accounts. So how do you get to this conclusion?

Where is the statement about where our finances are? Where is any explanation about what we have to do? Where does it tell us how much our owners are responsible for any financial shortfall? Where does it say how much we've lost and now made up?

Where is there anything that explains why we should continue to turn up when the ones putting the show on are downgrading the cast, character by character?

The statement came out when the board changed hands. The transfer window is still open, what's the point in saying anything until we know where we are? As for downgrading the cast, we need to, because we are skint. But we're also bringing in new faces, just because they're cheap/free doesn't mean they won't be an asset. Nareev said judge us by our actions, so that's what we should do - it won't happen over night.

The last time Luton were relegated to League One they were in admin and finished bottom. The following season they were hit with a 30 point deduction and ended up in non-league.

Anything the board do to avoid a similar fate is fine by me. We're far more likely to end up like Bury than Derby if the **** hits the fan.

It’s not about losing money - it’s about actually being able to pay staff, suppliers and HMRC as well as running a club properly. I’d take League 1 any day over a Championship scenario that Derby, Reading, Wigan, and other crack-pot, debt ridden teams have put themselves into….

You’ll never attract proper investment or increased commercial revenue if you’re bleeding money already.

Every season has a story to tell.

The season before last we were in the playoffs with Conway overlording everything. The only gripes were from those bemoaning hoofball.

Did we take a £6m hit the last time we went down? How did we cover it? To be honest I don't care.

If the owner of a football club is not prepared to lose money when owning it then he's not the right owner.

If BFC can't find someone prepared to take a financial hit then League 1 at best stretches before us.

We had money on the balance sheet to cover the losses (John Stones money) and added £1m from selling Bradshaw. We also lost £4m or so that promotion season (from memory) but the success covered that for us.

Being near the top of the table all next season must have helped though - the crowds were good.

    Didn't even need Duff.
Its a worry to me that we've sold our 2 best, most experienced strikers. Would have liked to have kept one

But cash in the bank was the only reason we didn't have to balance the books. We did have to sell Potts though to help the finances in case promotion didn't happen.

That feels like a completely unrealistic expectation to me. You genuinely expect people to come into the club and wilfully lose their personal wealth? Would you? I know I wouldn’t, and I’m actually a dyed in the wool fan. Most owners aren’t.

I agree with that Helen 100%. But we also have to take into consideration whether or not they wanted to be here. I think Woodrow's wanted to leave for a while, and I think Morris, given his body language and frustration with his teammates whilst playing last season, wanted to leave after we got officially relegated.
I think we saved 500k in wages alone with Woodrow so I think the board wanted him gone regardless, nice little fee + wages gone would be a nice addition to make up some of the deficit. I did actually think Morris was going to stay though, given his record, injury record and by all accounts wasn't on mega wages. So it leads me to believe he actually wanted to leave too

I agree - NOBODY enters a business to purposefully lose money. Unless it's personally important to them
