How can it be right to lose your best players to England ? When yer still playing, would never happen in Football.
Because the ECB are the ones that pay them and ate their employer for the majority of players that are called up for England. The counties have always relied on money from the centre, to produce players for England in return. It’s a system that works until you pack the schedules with an extra format and excessive amounts of international games. Would never happen in football because all the money is with the clubs.
It still amazes me how anyone could think that we had room for an extra format. Anyway, there’s 4 more years to prove that they can attract a “whole new audience” who will easily understand the new rules and flock in their thousands to watch at full price. I can’t see the five year franchise being renewed but time will tell
https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...s-glamorgan-39th-match-1297754/match-report-4 Sam Northeast take a bow. Two team mates got 139 and 191 not out and managed to get massively overshadowed. What about Pujara this week as well...... https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...x-vs-sussex-38th-match-1297752/match-report-2 Showing there is still a place in Cricket for a methodical innings with his third double century of the season and the first ever for a Sussex player at Lords. He faced 403 balls!!!
Nobody will ever understand the logic of making up a format that nobody else plays, so you can make up some team names, get them a crisp sponsor and call them a franchise.
Unless 'injured' it looks like Gabriel has been sent away a game early for being the latest in a long line of useless overseas signings this year. Good to see Ben Coad back and hopefully playing his first game of the season.
15 for 3! Shocking start by Yorks. I hadn’t realised how well Hampshire were doing though. 60 points clear of Yorks and pushing for the title
