Judging off the home and away kits I think our change of approach should be scrapped and we go back to how we used to decide replica kits. It seems letting too many people get involved in the thought process wasn't a good idea.
Always said that the club should approach the local schools and let the kids create some art work run a competition the winner sees their idea on the following seasons kit. Drums up some interest and gets the kids involved Same with Toby providing kids with a bfc pen pencil ruler in a Bfc pencil case ....I'm sure if they tried hard enough they could find a sponser to help them with the cost
Be careful what you wish for, this was produced by the local school children in my local city in Italy. They wore this for a season
Think what is more interesting about this post is that it shows the age of the contributors to this forum… according to this we have very few “young’uns” on here
I think it's going to be an age thing too. But I have a feeling my thoughts on it are going to be diametrically opposite to yours. I think you believe young people will like it. Where as I think most young people will hate it because it's absolutely hideous, designed by someone who believes this is what young people want but hasn't got a clue. And I think a lot of middle age people will like it because they haven't got any taste, and they'll say things like "it's modern" and it will "appeal to youngsters", when it actually looks like something from back in the 80s. Not that it matters like, it's just a football kit.
My prediction was that the middle age bracket would like it more than either younger or older, for similar reasons to you. It reminds me a bit of the yellow Arsenal kit from 91-93 and some of those crazy gk shirts we used to see in the 90s. It does contrast with the very plain home kit as well.
my grandson 8, harry has picked the new away strip today and ordered it. . . . . . . softarse is paying for it though
